Are you looking for summer fun activities for grandparents and their grandchildren with a spiritual side to encourage them in their walk with God during their break from school and Awana? Me too! My grandchildren and I are going to memorize some of the most famous Bible verses ever, 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8, 13 together and I thought I'd "get organized" here in order to share ideas with you. And absolutely, I'd love to hear your ideas as well. 🙂 So keep a close eye on SandwichINK as we'll be discussing it on and off throughout the summer months.
I decided Word-Filled Wednesday would be the perfect day to kick off this summer Bible memory verses project for our children and grandchildren.
Isn't he cute! One of my grandsons spent the night last night and we practiced saying, "Love is patient" and talked about it just a bit. I was thrilled when we got up this morning and he watched a Miss Spider episode. Would you believe it turned out to be a story about a quick little bug and a sloooooowwww snail. And, as you may have guessed, the core lesson, that love is (well, should be) always patient and kind, came out wonderfully. Doesn't God do the coolest things! Including in our little ones' lives!
I pray that you will each have a week blessed with patience – to you and from you. For more encouraging Bible verses and photos for our grandkids, our elderly parents, and ourselves as we deal with the Sandwich Generation issues of life, be sure to visit Word-Filled Wednesday hosted by Susan at Forever His.

I had a big bundle of stuff at the supermarket tonight and our Church administrator who is a lovely gentle guy had to pull back his stuff as I unloaded yet more and more that he had not seen.
I whispered “let patience have her perfect work”
It is something that is so good to seek to learn….or to learn just in the events of our life.
It is so basic……we can trust Him.
what a cute idea too bad my grandbaby is not old enough yet by next summer though watch out bible verses here we come
That picture is SO cute for that verse! I would love to memorize Scripture with my grandgirls, but their mom is really into teaching them verses, so I would just be complicating things. But I do believe your project is a great one and will be helpful to others, I hope. God bless!
So very cute.
Kaye!
What a fabulous idea!!
I wish you were MY gram! They are indeed blessed!
Awesomeness!!
Peace,
lori
Hi Whidbey Woman, Thank you so much 🙂
Hi Lori, Thank you so much 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hi Denise, Thanks 🙂
Hi Maxine, My daughter also works with them on their verses which is such a wonderful blessing, isn’t it? 🙂 During the school year, we both do Awanas with them, plus she has verses that go with their school work. But in the summer, no school and no Awanas. So we have fun with our own projects. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Isn’t that so true. I’ve gotten stopped a couple of times when my own impatience was wanting to take over. “Aren’t you working on “Love is patient” with your grandkids,” I’ve heard whispered in my ear!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 These summer projects are as much a blessing for me as for them!!! 🙂
What a great idea. That is soooo cute!
Amen!
I love this idea…what a thoughtful grandma you are!
