WEBKINZ UPDATE ALERT – For an even more recent update – check out my 2017 post – Webkinz Stuffed Animals and Webkinz World Fun Activities For Grandparents and Grandchildren

All good things do seem to come to an end, and this series on Webkinz stuffed and virtual animals activities for grandparents and their grandchildren is no exception. Today is the last post in this series at this time and I do hope you are having a delightful time playing games online with grandchildren near and far.

We’re finishing up the series with some Webkinz books that might be useful to you if you’d liked to learn more about Webkinz World – for yourself or to help your grandchildren.

As I mentioned in Webkinz Stuffed and Virtual Animals – Activities for Grandparents and Their Grandchildren – Part 3, the book that really helped me a lot a year or two ago when we got started on Webkinz is Webkinz Guide by Marcia Layton Turner and her (at the time) 7 year old son, Grant Turner). They go into much more depth about all I covered in the series, plus they cover more activities within Webkinz. If you and your grandkids are really enjoying Webkinz activities together, and want to learn more, I’d definitely recommend this book, which Amazon carries used or for the Kindle.

My Webkinz Companion Guide and My Webkinz Companion Guide 2 by Kathy Cothran look quite interesting. I haven’t gotten them yet, as we have too many other school projects going and not enough time. But if I lived nearer my other set of grandkids who love workbooks, I’d give them a try. Written by an elementary school teacher who is currently an elementary media specialist teaching technology and information literacy to kindergarten through sixth graders, the focus is on educational activities for Webkinz. Sounds great for grandparents and their grandchildren.

In My Webkinz Companion Guide, children can write in the book as they participate in the online world of Webkinz. They can track their pets’ progress along with their own learning as they participate in the online games.

My Webkinz Companion Guide 2 is a workbook style guide of ideas and activities for playing and learning with Webkinz pets. There are many activities for playing alone as well as some for playing with friends.

Ms. Cothran has written two other Webkinz books for group settings. Hands-On Learning With Webkinz has activity ideas for groups and is useful for parties, girl scouts, classroom settings, etc. And as you might guess, Using Webkinz In The Classroom is, indeed, for teachers and their classrooms.

(2017 UPDATE – SOME of these books are no longer available – others are. Click here to see what is. 😉 )

For Kindle readers, George Halt offers Webkinz(R) Recipes, KinzCash Tips, and Gem Hunt Secrets. I read this e-book on my iPhone using a Kindle app and couldn’t see all the recipes on it as it didn’t go far enough over to the right. It did, however, work just fine on my computer’s Kindle app and I’m sure it would work fine for the Amazon Kindle itself.

The Webkinz recipes are for the Webkinz virtual stove, sandwich maker, and blender, which some of my grandkids have, so it will be fun to share ideas with my grandkids. The Webkinz Money tips basically provides a brief review of all the ideas that I wrote about in this series, except that he also mentions jobs and Quizzy’s Corner – both of which are more ways to earn money. The Webkinz Gems section lists which gems are where and gives some clues on finding them. That was somewhat helpful to me for more quickly finding gems to sell for Webkinz money to help my grandkids. For 2.99, I am happy with this little booklet since I can make use of it with my grandkids, but do realize it is short and ONLY covers those three topics.

(2017 update – the latest book I found for Webkinz World and its cute Webkinz stuffed animals is Webkinz: Safe, Wholesome Fun for Kids on the Internet by Eric Bautista and Michael Stuhre, released October 2016 so I’m planning on checking that one out myself. 🙂 )

Well, that’s it for our series on Webkinz stuffed and virtual animals activities for grandparents and their grandchildren. We’ve had so much fun learning to play with them, earn money online, use them in Bible memory verses and Bible activities – like FROG – Fully Rely On God, 1 Corinthians 13 Love is Bible Memory Verses activities, and more!

You’ll find links to all the posts I’ve done on these fun Webkinz stuffed animals and Wekinz world in my series recap. And if you’d like to send in photos of you and your grandkids Webkinz stuffed animals (no faces please – I’m ultra-cautious about all our grandkids 🙂 ), we’d love to see them for a follow-up article.  In the meantime, for more information and further reviews on any of the above books, just click on their titles or click here

I’ve really enjoyed your series on Webkinz!! I learned lots of things I never knew–and it’s awesome that they have all kinds of books to learn about them. I never would have thought they would carry things on Kindle for them either–that’s awesome! I guess in a digital world everything is bound to have a digital edition!!

Definitely going to suggest this to my mom and dad! LOL. They are forever trying out new things to play/do with their grandkids and these’ll benefit them greatly! Tweeted this out as part of Tweet Me Tuesday. 🙂
