One of my grandkids spent the night and he and I had a lovely Advent devotional around the Christmas tree – which so far, still only has two ornaments on it. 🙂
I had grand plans to do a weekly Advent post this year and may still do a couple through the month. But so far, my to do list is keeping me a bit under the pile. However, God reminded me that I have several years worth of fun Advent ideas, verses and pictures, and more so I thought I’d link to them here for you to peruse at your convenience. (It IS handy having written this blog daily for five years – and continuing with it, albeit on daily, into the sixth year, isn’t it? 🙂 ).
In past years I have enjoyed linking up with Floss and her delightful and often thought-provoking A Pause in Advent – click here for several of my posts for that. And click on A Pause in Advent for her current link up 🙂
I was just told about another Advent Link-up by Chris from Campfires and Cleats. And oh my! Wait til you read what happened to her husband this week!!!!!! Click here for all of that!
Have a blessed and beautiful first week of Advent this week. And if your To Do list gets TOOOO TALLL, you have my blessing to trim it a bit instead of trimming a tree. OR ignoring it TO trim the tree. And remember what I tell my grandkids so often,
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He WILL make your paths straight. Â Proverbs 3:5-6
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
Life can get pretty crazy, can’t it! But when we cling to Him and we cling to His promises, we’re in GOOD HANDS!
Merry Christmas and Happy First Sunday in Advent!
🙂
P.S. You’ll also be blessed by Spiritual Sunday. 🙂
Your post was enjoyable and I liked your ending “Life can get pretty crazy, can’t it! But when we cling to Him and we cling to His promises, we’re in GOOD HANDS!”
Our pastor said, a similar thing: “Like a thief in the night our secure moments – are suddenly disrupted.
Another excellent point, Hazel!
