Lent is, to me, a wonderful opportunity to plan various fun activities for kids, grandkids, and grandparents in order to help us all remember the awesome sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. We look forward, with a mix of sorrow to joy, to Good Friday first and then on to Easter and His Resurrection!
As I was visiting various blogs yesterday for A Pause In Lent, I enjoyed reading the article at The Madhouse. She ended it with the question, "How would you discuss Easter with a 3 and a 5 year old, they are both bright and love to learn. I would like some ideas on a way to explain this to them."
As you know, that is a subject near and dear to my heart, not to mention my writing. I wrote her about a couple of my previous posts for Lent and Easter, then realized a round-up of them for you might be a handy annual resouce, as well. Many of these articles include easy Easter crafts for grand children that can also work well for seniors. In fact, as a blog focused on the Sandwich Generation and their issues, most of the articles will have something of interest for all the family, from the grandchildren on up to the elderly parents. 🙂 So, without further adieu,

Well, that's it for this year. I'm looking forward to adding even more interesting ideas and activities for grandparents and grandchildren along with our senior parents, to encourage us all as we share the truth of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. We'd love to hear your favorite Easter traditions, crafts, ideas, and suggestions for this as well. 🙂
P.S. For 2011, I'm doing a Word-Filled Wednesday series of encouraging Bible verses and cute country clipart. Spending time together learning Bible memory verses for children (not to mention all us granny nannies and pappies) is a wonderful way to spend the season of Lent preparing for Easter. And memorizing Bible verses is a great way to keep our brain young – at any age. Perfect for the whole Sandwich Generation family! You can find the first in the series by clicking here. 🙂
