All through my childhood, my parents had dogs and cats. When my husband and I started our own family, we stuck with just the cats, along with an occasional hamster or hermit crab. Now I have granddogs at each house I visit and a senior mom who would kind of like a dog but isn’t sure about it. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting her a fully trained smaller dog who can be a good companion for her and after reading this article, I’m even more inclined to do so.
