Can you believe it? Autumn is almost at the halfway point, Halloween is behind us, Thanksgiving is just days away and we won't even mention how close Christmas is! For all of us in the Sandwich Generation juggling the issues of caring for the elderly parents and helping with the grandkids, that might add an extra inch or so of stress to our already overloaded lives! So what should we do in the midst of all this crazy business? STOP for a second and BE THANKFUL! Or if we can't stop – be thankful that we can thank God as we are on the run! 🙂 Notice how Colossians 3:15-17 interweaves thankfulness to God throughout all the daily doings:
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Tis the season to remember we should ALWAYS be giving thanks, no matter what, to our ALMIGHTY GOD Who has promised us Romans 8:28, "We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Isn't that wonderfully encouraging! And what better way to prepare for Thanksgiving than to use these verses in Bible memory verses activities for grandparents and grandchildren? 🙂
Have a blessed and thankful Word-filled Wednesday for the Sandwich Generation, full of encouraging Bible verses. And speaking of encouraging, be sure to visit Internet Cafe Devotions for even more uplifting Bible verses to give thanks for!

Hi From the Heart – Amen! 🙂
Hi Bobbi, Thank you so much – 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hi Denise, Thanks. Hope and pray you are feeling better! 🙂
Hi Lori, Ohhhh trust me – I’ve been reveling in CRUNCHING through them playing tag with the grandkids, while every so often stopping to revel in the lovely autumn ballet of leaves drifting down and praising God for such exquisite joy. As beautiful as a soft snowfall but warmer 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thanks for popping by! 🙂
Hi Janette and welcome! You sound like you are DEFINITELY in the midst of it all and happily busy! I enjoyed reading a bit about it at your site, too. 🙂 Have a blessed week!

I just love fall and I especially love those verses from Colossians. Don’t you just love the song of crunching leaves?
Blessings, Marsha
Yes! Giving thanks makes a difference and changes your focus. We spend each night of this month writing down something we are thankful for so that we can take time and savor the gifts!
It is truly music to my ears, Marsha! 🙂 🙂 🙂
What a great idea, GlowinGirl – sounds like it would make wonderful activities for grandparents and their grandchildren as well. 🙂
Ahhh, Whidbey Woman, – I LOVE your sweet Fall family memories. Very delightful! 🙂
Hi Dawn 🙂 Hey, I love the sound of your dentist too – A recession crown! I’ll have to ask if my dentist does those. She’s great even if she doesn’t, but still 🙂 🙂 🙂
This photo brought back memories of how we would rake the leaves into a huge pile and the girls would run and jump in them. I can still here them squeling! Maybe some day, in not the too distant future, I will have grandchildren to share this joy with.
🙂 Happy WFW.
Amen! Great minds think alike. 😉 Have a wonderfully blessed day!
Love that verse….nice to see the autumn leaves although we are so enjoying the green of spring….and Praise God and to Him be all thankfulness…we are having rain.
Oh OzJane How WONDERFUL! I know you’ve been struggling with that drought! We’ve had a minor drought here. Nothing compared to yours but it has led to several extra fires so I can’t begin to imagine how hard it’s been for y’all. I’m praising God with you for the rain!!! 🙂
Oh Amydeanne, Thank you 🙂 I’ll keep praying for you!!!
I haven’t been feeling well this week, and as I was sitting in the hospital last night, both hubby and I were reminded how blessed we truly are. Thanks for the wonderful reminder!
WE have so much to be thankful for! 🙂 Definitely need to be grateful all year long not just at Thanksgiving or this month. 😉
ABSOLUTELY TRUE, Sherry! And something I definitely work with on during activities for grandparents and grandchildren with my grandkids all year. 🙂 🙂 🙂
