Sweet Sunday blessings from Kaye Swain social media blogger in Placer and Sacramento countyHappy Sunday!

I know many elderly seniors aren’t able to get out to church for a variety of reasons. So I thought this might be a sweet encouragement to many.

This YouTube video is 40 minutes of instrumental old Christian hymns that I’ve added to my Sweet Sunday Blessings playlist at YouTube. While there are no words in this video, I know many – like myself – know so many of the words to these sweet old hymns and it’s a lovely and quiet backdrop that many seniors will appreciate.

Here’s another fun video from the Gaither Family with what may be the Oldest Living Quartet (the tenor is 92!) per Bill Gaither. They are singing a sweet old hymn, “I’m Telling The World About His Love” that put a big smile on my face. I’m thinking it will on yours too. 🙂

One of my favorite sermon series on the book of Revelation, that I enjoyed several years ago, is by Stephen Davey. He is pastor of Colonial Baptist Church in Cary North Carolina and his teaching is wonderful. Very Biblical, interesting, and educational. I always learn a lot from him! Now seems like a great time to listen to it again and I thought you might enjoy coming along for a listen.

Click here to go to the Revelation page, where you can find buttons that let you CLICK to listen, download, and more. The first sermon in the series is Revelation 1:1-3.

I pray these will be a blessing to young and old, and especially our sweet aging senior citizens – both friends and relatives.

Sweet Sunday blessings,

  1. Indeed! What an encouragement!

I LOVE the old hymns! There is such richness to the lyrics. I have been convicted, encouraged, edified and comforted through the hymns.

What a wonderful post for the Lord’s day to share hymns and an edifying sermon. 🙂

  2. My parents always loved the Gaithers. We watched several of the videos with them through the years (back when they were on VHS tapes!). 🙂 I’m glad their music lives on.

  3. Well, I broke the speakers on my computer just in time to NOT be able to hear what I am sure is beautiful and peaceful music! Bookmarking this to return to later!

  4. 🙂 I know that feeling Joyce. Hopefully you’ll get them fixed soon. That must be so frustrating for you. 🙂 Have a great rest of the weekend!

  5. Very definitely alive and well Lisa. And what fun memories. I have similar wrapped around Lawrence Welk and my grandparents and treasure those times together. Re: the Gaithers. I’ve even gotten to see a couple of the individual performers live and that was quite a treat as well. Thanks so much for popping in!

  6. I feel the same, Karen, about the old hymns. I do love the contemporary ones as well. All in all, we are blessed with a sweet treasure of love and Scripture through them. Thanks for popping by.
