This cute country duck clipart is a sweet reminder of lovely family memories my granddaughter and I enjoyed while feeding the ducks nearby

My granddaughter spent the night two weeks ago. We enjoyed worship in the morning at church, a fun lunch time at the park feeding the ducks and geese, and a loooong afternoon studying for her finals that she finished a few days later. In the evening, as she was getting ready for bed, she came down to say good-night as I was working on an article.

"Grandma, grandma, I just remembered! I  have to show you the cutest video!" she exclaimed.

"OK, but you only have 5 minutes." I replied.

She ended up taking 15 and it was WELL worth it!

"Oh honey, this is awesome. I'm sharing this in two weeks for the fifth commandment. Thank you!"

"I told you she was good and that you'd love it!" she replied happily.

What were we talking about? A little, seven-year-old girl, Kaitlyn Maher, and her grandfather, Pops, who recently passed away in an unexpected accident.

This sweet young girl, who has been singing publicly since she was four, is very comfortable on stage. She has sung for America's Got Talent as well as for a Disney movie, Santa Paws. She has a sweet little voice and I really enjoyed watching her with my granddaughter.

Even more than that, though, I was so moved by what she shared at the funeral for her beloved "Pops." She sang  a wonderful song, read a lovely eulogy, and then spoke straight from her heart – about the Christian faith of her grandfather. Talk about wonderfully leaving a spiritual legacy! Her obvious joy in the knowledge that her grandpa was safely rejoicing in heaven and her zeal in sharing her own faith with everyone in that service were beautiful.

Christian Encouragement - The 10 Commandments Wall Art Plaque is a great reminder for the Sandwich Generation granny nanny grand kids & your grand childrenWe're on the 5th of the Ten Commandments for our Bible Memory verses summer project for children and grand kids –  "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you." This sweet young lady certainly was following that mandate for her parents AND her grandfather and what a joy it was to watch.

Not only that, this video is so encouraging and comforting for any who are currently having to "walk through the valley of the shadow of death." It offers a clearcut and joy-filled reminder that earth is not our true home – HEAVEN IS OUR HOME. I pray you will be blessed as much by this video as my grandchild and I were.

I'm not sure where God will be leading this young lady. I'm praying she will always walk close to God, always share His love and joy just has she has done here. And that she will continue to be blessed by the wonderful spiritual legacy of her grandfather. I'm also praying for all of us and our own Sandwich Generation families that we might each succeed at leaving such a sweet spiritual legacy for our own grandchildren. won't you. 🙂

Today this message is so inspiring. Kaitlin is a special child. So grown up in her expression about her grandpa. She sings like an angel. The commandment series is wonderful and so easy to understand.

  3. What a talented young lady. I pray that I am able to leave a spiritual legacy behind when I go to be with Jesus. I think that if you lead a life that is good and dedicated towards serving as the Lord leads you then we all have the chance to be able to do just that.
