Wheelchair Wheeee

I have lovely memories of my oldest grandson, who was a toddler at the time, riding on the lap of my elderly dad while in his wheelchair, a few months before dad went to be with the Lord. Nowadays, my latest grand-toddler crew have fun with great-grandma’s walker – especially the non-walker who can actually use it to walk. 🙂

Popsicles

The popsicles I bought for my elderly mom, to help add more liquid to her diet and ward off the urinary tract infections elderly women – including my sweet mom – can be prone to, are also a fun and healthy treat for my grandkids!

Musical Teddy Bear

My mom’s teddy bear, nicknamed Johnny Cash because of the Johnny Cash Gospel songs she enjoys listening to from his hidden mp3 player, is always a hit with the grandkids (though they are not allowed to play with it. They do, however, enjoy seeing it and playing with their own teddies ;).

YouTube Resources

The YouTube premium channel my senior mom listens to for her sermons via her iPad also has playlists of Bible songs and stories my grandkids enjoy, along with my favorite Bible studies as well as tons of fave Bible prophecy and apologetics lectures. All of which are a sweet blessing for my whole Sandwich Generation family!

Home Safety Devices-Elderly-Power Strips Covers

The latest home safety devices elderly parents can benefit from is the plug protector I recently purchased. My sweet mom has such a heart for helping and tidying. That’s long been a big help to so many. But lately, due to memory issues, she has been busy tidying plugs in her room a bit more than needed. That led to my researching power strips covers that could keep her from tidying the cords up, and accidentally misplacing them.

Since I needed two of these home safety devices elderly parents can’t inadvertently open and I wasn’t familiar with the power strips covers available, I decided to try two different ones. I am so glad I did. One was a rather rectangular one with latches that I found very difficult to work with and which didn’t stay connected.

The second of the power strips covers I bought was the round Safety First power strip cover. I LOVE it! So much so, that I returned the other one and ordered another Safety 1st power strip cover!

Even if she decides to try to make her power strip covers neat tidy,  they should still stay nicely plugged in.

Elderly Safety AND Toddler Safety Vital

As I mentioned at the beginning, this is another of the Sandwich Generation home safety devices that works as well for grandkids as for elderly. That’s particularly true for my grand toddlers. At this stage of my life, toddler safety is back to being a top priority for all of us in our Sandwich Generation family, right up there with elder safety and elder safety devices! 🙂
