4th of July Fun in Roseville
Time is flying and so much fun is going on. Our sweet town of Roseville CA had a great time on the 4th of July, complete with fun run, parade, park activities, and later, great fireworks!
I enjoyed getting to our Roseville City Hall at 6:30 a.m. and helping hand out water cups to the runners. Later, as I was watching the parade and taking tons of photos, it was a delight to see so many familiar faces of friends IN the parade, including the sweet teen who helped me with Vacation Bible School this year, not to mention our brave firefighters and police officers, whom we SO appreciate!
There were even some adorable dogs – in the parade AND watching the parade. My granddog in Roseville was most miffed that I didn’t take him. 😉
VBS Joys
Speaking of VBS, it went great. I was thrilled when several of my children prayed to ask Christ to live in their hearts. And if my CD creator will start cooperating, I’m hoping to mail CDs of photos from VBS to each parent. Gotta love tech woes, right? 🙂
I have to confess, the week of VBS in Roseville did leave me a bit exhausted, albeit quite happy. Last week was catch-up time and for the first few days I thoroughly enjoyed working at my computer. Half way through the week, though, I was ready to get moving again and had the chance to go walking and visit with several neighbors to let them know about an open house with great aging in place options and a price reduction in their area.
Now it’s time to prep for the second (and final) week of Vacation Bible School, also in Roseville. This should be a quieter and easier time, as I’m helping in the encouragement department, making iced slushies to lift the teachers’ spirits and give them a burst of energy throughout the day. A terrific way to be a Barnabas (encourager) to all the hard-working teachers!
Praying and Trusting God
Of course, this week was also full of sad news reports from a variety of areas so lots of prayers have been going up for all involved! I was very encouraged in my Bible study this morning when reminded we must “walk by faith and not by sight!” So true, yet often so hard to do. And never too early to start teaching that to our grandkids, or too late to remind our senior parents, not to mention ourselves.
You know me. I had to make a Scripture picture AND a coloring page for that to share with our grandkids AND our elderly parents (and anyone else)! 🙂
Dog and Granddog Joys In Roseville & Beyond
One of the posts I did on my local area blog, Roseville California Joys, was about therapy dogs and service animals. While most of the resources I shared were for the Sacramento and Roseville area, there were some that were nationwide. So if you, or someone you care about, is needing a service dog or therapy animal (which can include horses, dogs, and more), do pop over to Do You Need A Service Dog?
Speaking of dogs of all kinds, here’s my latest pix of me with my four granddogs. 🙂

That’s about all for our neck of the woods in the Roseville Sacramento area. How about you? Any VBS stories you’d like to share. We’d love to hear about them! And don’t forget to visit SandwichINK for the Sandwich Generation at Facebook! 😉

P.S. I’ve also updated my Pinterest board for grandkids and grandparents, along with various other boards. 🙂
