Next week is April 15. For the U.S. that means Tax Day! If the Sandwich Generation issues of caring for your elderly parents and helping with your grandchildren have kept you too busy to do your taxes or your elderly parents' taxes, this is the week to hunker down and get them done OR file an extension.
In the meantime, it's also a good time for all of us, no matter where we live, to stop and pray for our government and those in authority over us, that they would guide us wisely and safely. In fact, it's a great opportunity to help in teaching our grand children to pray by praying together with them. Prayers for peace for our nation along with wisdom and guidance for our leaders, in front of and with our grandkids, is one of the most important activities for all grandparents and their grandchildren! This is also one of those wonderful ideas for grandparents to make a positive spiritual impact on, and stay in touch and close to grandchildren, even when living far away.
I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority,
so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:1-4
