Daily Living Made Easier

How are you feeling? Healthy? OK? Sick? Groan, moan, cough, hack! Yup! I am still sick. Although, I think I'm coughing a bit less. I'm not sure. I know I still don't feel great. I have to admit, I was feeling rather mopey about it. It's hard enough to be sick, but even more so for those of us in the Sandwich Generation juggling caring for elderly parents, helping with grandkids, and dealing with our own health issues. I did manage to drag myself up, got dressed, and plopped myself down in front of the computer to do some work. I'm moving slower, but it's more than if I didn't move. 🙂

I even thought to turn on my iTunes music. The praise and worship songs I've been listening to have been a big encouragement to me, in spite of myself. Especially the last one.  It was the "Take My Life and Let It Be" hymn sung by Chris Tomlin on the Passion Worship Band CD, Hymns Ancient and Modern

What a good reminder to myself that I have, repeatedly, told God that I fully surrender myself into His hands. That means in good times AND in bad times. That means when senior parents are doing well or when they are not doing so great. That means when juggling the various Sandwich Generation issues goes well and when it doesn't. And yes, it even means when I feel good AND when I don't feel so good! And yes, it is so wonderfully worth while! I needed that reminder today! How about you? 🙂

  4. Hi Kaye, It’s nice to meet you but sorry you are feeling “under the weather.” I’m glad you chose to share with us on Spiritual Sundays. I just returned from delivering a McDonald’s hamburger and french fries to my “under the weather” daughter who is one of your generation. She lives about 5 miles from us. I’m so glad she lives that close. I know a lady named Kate Swain. I know you wanted to know that trivia. lol
The music video is beautiful. Thank you for sharing and hope to get to know you more in the future.
    Blessings,
    Charlotte

Great music. We just got home from worship but we never have too much worship. Thanks for posting this. If you can be this upbeat when you are feeling down, WOW, I want to meet you on a “good” day. I pray you will feel better soon. LOOKOUT!

  5. Hi, Whidbey Woman, Thanks for popping in. You are soooo right! You and your husband are in my prayers. I hope he is feeling a bit better than earlier this week! 🙂

  6. Hi Joan. ME TOO! On those days when I am reeeeeallly down, it may take more songs, but eventually God uses them to power me back up. Thanks for the sweet wishes and have a wonderful week.

  7. Hi Charlotte I did, indeed, enjoy reading all this 🙂 What a blessing your daughter is so close and what a gift you are to her. 🙂 Have a lovely week.

  8. Hi Clif, Thank you 🙂 LOL – thank you, too, for the good chuckles 🙂 I have been know to be considered a bit on the uber enthusiastic side. On the other hand, if you could have seen me dragging up and down the stairway before, during, and after writing yesterday, you’d know my upbeatedness was primarily mental – definitely not physical. Getting better today tho. Still not running up and down the stairs, but faster. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Have a blessed week.

Hope you feel better. As caregivers (I take care of my husband with Cancer), it is important we get the R & R we need.
    God bless!

  16. Hi Ginger, Thank you so much! 🙂

  17. Take my life and let it be is the hymn I walked down the aisle to when I got married. The congregation sung it as I went down. When my daughter got married my hubby and I walked down the hill to it , before my hubby walked my daughter down to her chosen hymn. I love the song so much.

Ps. I hope you will feel better soon. I have been under the weather for months with sore ears/ tiredness, some sinus stuff etc. I have found some meds that are helping some, but I have no idea why I am having such problems!

  18. Hi NannyKim – I love your sweet family wedding memories. What a lovely idea to incorporate wonderful praise and worship hymn songs and music into the wedding like that!!! And thank you, I am much better and hoping and praying I stay that way. 🙂 🙂 🙂
