My grandsons and I were having fun in the back yard playing ball tag, clearing up broken branches from the last two storms, and praising God for the GORGEOUS sunshiny day! HOORAY! My senior mom is grinning from ear to ear today as her gardening plants are all outside in a nice little row in their garden wagons, soaking up the sunshine as well! I’ve so enjoyed seeing different gardening delights already blooming in so many writers’ yards. Because of all the storms, we haven’t had any of our own bloom BUT God has blessed us with several different adorable wildflowers.
Some people might call these weeds, and they will get mowed in a week or so. But as my plant teacher once told us – one man’s weed is another man’s lovely flower. And I’m definitely going with lovely flowers here!
Even the granddogs are enjoying the outside. None of them are too fond of going out when it’s raining, but they’re all enjoying being outside with us now that it’s dryer.
Of course, that can be a mixed blessing. As I was playing ball tag with my grandboys this week, and hiding behind one of their grand old and very huge trees, first one granddog and then the other two granddogs discovered me. Immediately, they started barking loudly – not to give my spot away, though they did. They were hoping they could get some more of those yummy Blue Dog Bakery peanut butter dog treats I keep for them. I kid you not, thanks to those treats, they all think this grandparent Β walks on water! And nowadays,Β I never have to worry that they’ll run away from me. π
Want to see something absolutely gorgeous!
When I was hiding from the boys over on the side of the house I spotted that and immediately called “PAUSE.” (You can tell we’re a high-tech family. Instead of saying “Time out,” my grandkids all say, “Pause.” And now they have me doing it. π ) I took some pictures and then called the grandboys over for an impromptu science lesson. It was perfect timing for everyone as my granddaughter is studying just this type of organism in science. Here’s the bigger picture of it all. Not so pretty when you see it all, but gorgeous up close. Isn’t God’s world wonderfully, intricately, and specifically designed!
All in all, a very lovely, sunshiny and nice day full of fun and physical senior citizen and grandkids activities for all of my Sandwich Generation family. Short-lived, also, as we were back in rain the next day – and have been off and on for the last few days! But oh, these sweet family memories!
How are you doing in this weather? Is yours better, worse, or the same? If you were in the areas that were harder hit than us, please know you are in our prayers!!!! I’m sharing these pictures, taken with my wonderfully easy to use digital camera, with Sweet Shot Tuesday AND Rednesday.

Looks like a wonderful day outside. I think the “weeds” are beautiful.
Isn’t it amazing what a little sunshine can do for the soul?! I think it makes everyone happier, and we all get some much-needed vitamin D. I also think that fungi is beautiful!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol
Sounds like a great day Kaye! Your granddog is adorable! π
Love weeds. I have a real βgreen thumbβ growing them π Nice post this week.
lovely day indeed. God surely is brilliant when it comes to his creation. Happy rednesday! Mica
Sounds like a great day! And, those ‘weeds’ I love Natural Gardening. Perennials guarenteed to come year after year.
They are pretty and teh dog is cute. happy Rednesday.
What a beautiful day and your fungus is really beautiful.
It was a delight Diann! Followed by several days of more rain – but we’re back to sun again – YAY – for a day or two anyway. And isn’t that fungus cool! I just had to stop and take its picture. It is one of those intricate miracles of God, that’s for sure! π
Thanks Gen! She thinks she’s cute too π π π
You betcha, Melody – As a busy member of the baby boomers generation, flirting with my senior citizen status, I ALWAYS LOVE any gardening that does NOT require much work. π
Amen, Mica, AMEN! π
HEHEHEHEHE Genie – you and me both! π π π
Thank you Paula – and she thanks you as well π
Thanks, Carol. And you are certainly right. What a spirit lifter the sun AND the SON of GOD both are! π
Thanks Rochelle, they are purty! I hate to see them mown down, but the time will come soon. By then though, hopefully my senior mom’s gardening projects will be in full swing. The grandkids and I are really enjoying the sunflowers growing away in preparation for the Sunflower House π
