I am always on the lookout for you for interesting news and articles on the Baby Boomers Generation and the Sandwich Generation – caring for elderly parents while still raising one or more of their own children at home, or even caring for grandkids (like me). I've found several good resources for us this week.

Web News for the Sandwich Generation 

The New Old Age Blog at the New York Times had a fascinating article on using geriatric care managers and Skype (a program that allows you to see and talk to others on computers) to facilitate long distance care giving. As the article pointed out, it's still not perfect or cheap, but it is good to know what some of our options are. And, of course, it's also useful for the wee ones in our family. My dentist commented today that he will be keeping up with his two little grandkids three states away using Skype. Talk about great ideas for grandparents to stay in touch and close to grandchildren when living far away!

Canada is also experiencing a Sandwich Generation growth spurt, as documented in this article from The National Post, Finding Relief for the 'Sandwich Generation.' As they point out, and we well know, "Boomer Caregivers, with child and elderly parent duties – it's key to seek out help.' Very true. I found the whole article quite interesting, along with some very useful tips and statistics.

And speaking of help for the Baby Boomers Generation, the latest Boomers and Seniors News You Can Use is out and full of great information and resources at Seniors for Living.
