True confession time! I'm just plain tired! It's been a LONG day of babysitting grandchildren, running to errands and therapy appointment with my senior mom, and working on summer plans – on top of waking up toooo early after toooo little sleep! Do you ever have one of those days where your brain just does NOT want to do anything except vege? 🙂
Still and all, I did get quite a bit done today, including some great one-on-one Bible time with a grandkid, and some Mother's Day shopping for my mom. Sadly, I have not yet found her main present, which is to be a hydrangea plant. She's been drooling over them for a couple of weeks and I was thrilled to put a mental note in my head to get her one for Mother's Day. Apparently, several other moms are wanting those as well as they were out at the store I went to today. Worst case scenario tho, I can give her a cute card with an IOU to go pick her own out. And frankly, THAT would be easier to hide from her.
In the meantime, I do have a few other goodies that she can actually open on Sunday like her favorite candy bar – Snickers. She especially loves the almonds.
This intriguing looking gizmo, a Zibra Open-It Rx 4-in-1 Tool, to help us both open things easier.
And these very cool squishy toys that are AWESOME for her when she has to have a painful skin treatment! And very cool to look at. Plus, they have the added advantage of being fun for her to share with her great-grandkids.
So I am ready for Mother's Day, which is good since tomorrow is SOCCER DAY for grandkids all around the country. Will you be there cheering grandkids on, out shopping for Mother's Day for the beloved seniors in your Sandwich Generation family, or taking it easy at home?
P.S. Hooray! I did, indeed, find that gorgeous hydrangea – at 11:30 Saturday night! But the look on my senior mom's face Sunday morning definitely made it worth while! AND that handy dandy little Zibra Open-It Rx 4-in-1 Tool works great at opening a foil pill packet. I have the hardest time with those. They hurt my thumb and I've actually broken a nail AND cute the finger under it once. With this, I just popped the cap off, jabbed the packet, and voila – safely opened.
