Love This Carex Mini Exercise Pedal Bike

Looking for boomer and senior exercise in all the wrong places? Well, there probably aren't many wrong places, but are you looking in all the right places? I accidentally discovered the mini stationary exercise bike while doing research on another project, and I'm so glad I did.

There were several to pick from which was nice. After doing a bit of research I ordered the Carex Digital Pedal Exerciser from Walmart for my senior mom and me. It's been a couple of months and we are still using it and loving it. It's so handy and lightweight, it makes it easy for her to use downstairs and me to carry upstairs if I want to work and "ride."

I told another senior friend about it. She is not able to get out and about much right now due to health and weather issues and was commenting that she wished she could because she needed to exercise. After I mentioned this to her, she was quite interested so one is on its way to her house as we speak, errr –  type, hmmm – read? 🙂

I did discover something important to pass on to you about it, though. The other day I brought it upstairs to pedal away as I worked on my daily Bible study. As a busy baby boomer, caring for elderly parents and helping with granchildren, multi-tasking is a way of life for me and this was no exception. I pedaled merrily and very quietly away at 7 a.m. in the room right above my senior mom's bedroom.

She got up a few minutes after I started and came to the foot of the stairs to greet me. I went to talk to her and we had a nice chat. Then she asked me if I had heard that strange sound a few minutes earlier. We realized she must have been hearing a bit of bumping or vibrating from the mini exercise bike! I felt so bad that I accidentally woke her up, however, as mom's do, she said, "No problem."  BUT I did want to let you know that even though, as a general rule, this pedal exerciser is very quiet, it's probably best to NOT use it one room above a sleeping person.   🙂

Next time, I'll do my Bible study / boomer fitness exercise work out in the adjoining room. I've done it in there before and she never heard a sound. Then I'll get to work on my refuse-to-be-aging baby boomer fitness at the same time as my spiritual fitness. Definitely a win-win for my day! How about yours? 🙂

P.S. To read a review I did on this pedal exerciser and a second "smaller brother" to it, just pop over to Mini Exercise Bike Reviews for the Baby Boomer Generation and Their Senior Parents. 🙂

  2. I love that you are keeping mind, body, and soul in shape. Thia is without a doubt how you are able to do all that you do. Good for you.

Thanks for the caveat, however. I would never have thought of that as an issue. My grandmother lives on the first floor of her apartment so it would still probably be a good choice for her.

    Happy saturday!

  3. Hi Traci, I think it would be great for her. I have two other elderly relatives I’ve discovered who also use it and love it 🙂 Also, I would suspect there is enough insulation between floors for apartments, but would suggest doublechecking with neighbors, just to be safe. 🙂

  4. What a great idea and way to exercise! So glad that it is a blessing for you and your mom. Blessings to you!

  5. Hi Joyfull. Thanks. Now if I can just get my eating back on track healthy-wise! 🙂
