Daily Living Made Easier

With the different Lent meditations for kids and grandkids on the last few Word-filled Wednesdays, I thought it would be good timing for a reminder of what WE should be doing in light of what JESUS did for US. Here's a fun way of sharing one of the encouraging Bible memory verses from Romans 12 for our children and grandchildren in our Sandwich Generation families. What a great opportunity to start teaching the concept of total surrender to God during this special season.

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

Romans 12:1 Message

or as the NASB puts it:

Present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship

Have a blessed Word-Filled Wednesday, full of uplifting Bible verses to encourage all of us in and out of the Sandwich Generation. 🙂

Hi Kaye, It is always fun to pop in and see what you’ve been up to! My, that bear is a cutie! Read my last two postings on Rons Road 2 Recovery. The latest, of course, is my WFW contribution. The one before is dedicated to my mother in law, who has Alzheimer’s. I think you’ll like the video.

Today I needed to be reminded of the verse from Romans 12:1, and I loved reading it in the down to earth Message translation. I no longer face the caregiver issues, but am filled with many day to day challenges that face my grandchildren. I look forward to following this blogspot… and thanks for your visit to mine!

  15. Hi Lori, You are very welcome for the Amazon gift card. And thank you for the sweet and encouraging comments. A blessing to me the day I first read them and again today as I am running behind 🙂 Have a blessed and beautiful Easter!

  16. Hi Jane, My folks used to have that version and I loved it. It’s hard to find online, but I did finally track it down, and you’re right – it’s great in that. 🙂 Here’s Romans 12:1-2 in it – “With eyes wide open to the mercies of God, I beg you, my brothers, as an act of intelligent worship, to give him your bodies, as a living sacrifice, consecrated to him and acceptable by him. Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould, but let God re-mould your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands and moves towards the goal of true maturity.” Thanks for the sweet reminder of these wonderfully encouraging Bible verses in that version, Jane 🙂

  17. Hi Whidbey Woman. I’ve been staying so busy with babysitting grandchildren, helping my senior mom with gardening, and writing, I’m just now catching up on comments. I just popped over to see the two posts you mentioned and they were such a blessing. Then I had a chance to see your most current post. Please know I am praying extra for sweet blessings and comfort!
