Daily Living Made Easier

My grandkids LOVE to go to a movie when it's in 3-D. They get those cool glasses and it looks like they can see special, hidden things coming out at them in a unique way. Don't you wish, sometimes, that you had a pair of special 3-D glasses that would let you find out what's coming up in the future for all of us in the Sandwich Generation, dealing with the issues of caring for the elderly parents and babysitting grandchildren? We don't, of course. And, in fact, it's probably better that we don't.

But Jesus DID know! He knew, before He ever was born on earth, that He was coming to suffer and to die for the world – for you and for me! He knew all the prophecies, including Isaiah 53:3-5:

While sad, these really are such blessed and encouraging Bible verses for all of us in the Sandwich Generation dealing with the issues of caring for the elderly parents and babysitting grandchildren

He was despised and rejected by men,

a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering…

Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows,

yet we considered Him stricken by God,

smitten by Him, and afflicted.

But He was pierced for our transgressions,

He was crushed for our iniquities;

the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,

and by His wounds we are healed.

He knew, and came anyway! For you! For me! For our beloveds – from elderly parents on down to our youngest grandchildren! What blessed and encouraging Bible verses!. And what a wonderful thing to teach them – this great and precious gift that God gave us! What a joy for us in this season of Lent 2011 for the grand kids AND usas we dwell on this thought – that by His wounds, we are healed!
