Bible memory verses for our children and grandchildren are so important for a variety of reasons. One that is especially important during the season of Lent is to giveย them wise words to use to share the Good News of Jesus’ precious gift of salvation with friends.
A young friend and I were discussing this last week. He shared his favorite verse for just this purpose, John 14:14, and I shared my favorite, Romans 10:9.ย We thought combining the two would be a great Scripture picture to share with YOU and your Sandwich Generation family. ๐
Jesus said, “You may ask Me for anything in My Name and I will do it.
John 14:14
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God rased Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
What is your favorite Bible verse(s) for sharing with others – children or adults? We’d love to know.ย ย And have you thought to put Bible verses on your cell phone as wallpaper? Those can be a great way to share encouraging Bible verses with your children and grandchildren without ever saying a word. ๐
P.S. Do your grandchildren or children have a good Bible? If you are looking for one, you might want to consider this NIV Adventure Children Bible – geared for ages 9-12. My grandkids love theirs. It has the full NIV version of the Bible, along with colorful maps, a concordance, facts about each of the books of the Bible. It’s a great way to get them in the habit of using a “study Bible” on a regular basis – one of the best habits ever!ย ย ย ๐
Life giving verses! I love to share Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Happy WFW!
thanks for stopping by! love the scripture. isn’t it so cool that the Word is living and active to us no matter where we are?!
I love how you used two verses for WFW! Kind of reminds me of the PB cup, bringing together chocolate with peanut butter and it ends up all good. In this case, amazing, because it is glorifying His word!
Beautiful and thoughtful verses.
Amen! A great Easter verse (of course I think every verse in the Bible comes back to Easter LOL).
Happy WFW my friend!
how wonderful to know these words
Amen! I love this!
I’m a new follower from UBP11. I love this!!! Can I print it to use at church?
Thank You Lord for Kaye’s beautiful depiction of two great verses that lead us from the Cross to Your Glorious Resurrection! “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life…” always has been my favorite verse taht shows me how … “no one comes to the Father except through You!” I’m so grateful, Lord in how Kaye shares her love for You with both generations! Continue to bless and inspire her with encouraging words and Your grace to care and that You care for Kaye with Your tender love and power!
Your REDEMPTION is so powerful, so that’s what I’m sharing over at The Power of Your Love
I LOVE this too Kaye!!!!! It’s perfect!
peace! lori
Thanks for the visit and your comments Kaye…I think anything we can do to get the bible into the memory banks of the young is great.
Where have the texts we used to get each Sunday and learn and get a new one vanished to…..?
I am so blessed to have had a Bible memory from a young child.
Hi Amy – You are SOOO right. In fact, I think there are a couple of books on the topic of how everything in the old testament and the new testament points to Jesus! Very exciting when God works so wonderfully! ๐
Hi Heidi, We love that one too! When my kids were little, that was verse was the lyrics to one of my favorite praise and worship hymn songs and I still sing it to my grandkids today!
Amen, Annette, AMEN! ๐
Hi Julie, Thank you for that fun analogy – and yummm I LOVE chocolate and the granddog I am dog-sitting loves peanut butter so we’re doubly happy! And good it is, because His Word is AWESOME! ๐
Thank you, Donnie. ๐
Welcome, Lisa. And yes – what a blessing to have it shared there ๐ God is awesome! ๐ I’d just ask that you keep the watermark on there. Have a blessed day!
Thank you, Peggy. And thanks for popping over. I visited you yesterday, but the link I clicked to go for comments didn’t work, then I got interrupted, then… ๐ So now I’m back on track and enjoyed your Word-Filled Wednesday as well – loved how you did the verses – reminded me of the cross as well! As the praise and worship music goes, “the wonderful cross” – and our wonderful Savior! And what a great verse for your favorite. Another wonderful Scripture to share with others, including our grandchildren! ๐
Thank you, Lori. ๐ ๐ ๐
Hi Jane, Thank you. And, like you, I learned a lot when I was young too. I had 8 years of Christian elementary school, with tons of Bible memory verses for us to memorize. As children, it was hard, but we got it in our brains and I can still remember many today – decades later. I’m blessed my grandchildren are all learning Bible verses as well – whether in school, home school, Awana, and this here Granny Nanny ๐ ๐ ๐
Just perfect!
I know that deep down in our lives… different verses touched us at different times and in different ways… John 14:14 above “You may ask Me for anything in My Name and I will do it…”, just made my day… the timing is just perfect. thanks Kaye!
Thanks for those encouraging words, Adam. Have a blessed Easter.
