Shhhh! Come close. Don’t tell them, but I got all my Easter gifts for the grand kids already! Aren’t you proud of me! With all the extra Sandwich Generation duties I’ve been juggling, I figured I’d better do it while I had a few spare minutes, or it might be a month AFTER Easter before I got to it. 🙂  And…true confession. I do have to go back and pick up one. It’s the very latest Britt Nicole music CD which I had to pre-order (for a very nice discount, I might add), since it’s not due out til the end of March. If you have a teen granddaughter, I highly recommend her CDs as great Christian Easter gift ideas, along with Francesca Battistelli’s music. My granddaughter and I have enjoyed seeing both in concert, as well as listening to their music for the past couple of years and they each have a wonderful testimony and are setting great examples for our kids and grandkids.
In years past, I would get cute baskets to put these goodies in. Nowadays, I’m more likely to go with pretty pastel bags. They’re inexpensive, bright and colorful, fun and slightly cooler for the grandkids to tote their stuff in, and don’t take up as much room. All important necessities in my multigenerational family. 🙂  For my grandkids, I don’t give candy for a whole raft of reasons – from “they’ll get plenty from everyone else” to healthy bodies to healthy teeth. Rarely any rabbits either. In fact, overall my Easter gifts are primarily Christian encouragement gifts like a new Bible for kids who have matured a bit and need an “older kids” Bible, Christian praise and worship CDs for kids – we LOVE the GoFish Guys, and books I think they’ll enjoy and be encouraged by. This year, some of my ideas included:
- Joni -Since my granddaughter loved Soul Surfer so much, I’m hoping she will also enjoy this inspirational book written by Joni Eareckson Tada. It tells how she broke her neck in a diving accident, has been paralyzed from the neck down for over 30 years, how she became a Christian, and how God has used all of this in such a powerful way. Her ministry has touched the lives of thousands (millions?!?!), including me, and I pray she will be a blessing to my grandchildren as well. I’m hoping to read it out loud to my younger grandkids once their big sis has finished it. I’m especially excited about it as one grandchild and I were just talking about why God may say “no” to some of our prayers. I told him how God said ‘no” to healing Joni and as a result, so many many have been blessed. This will be a great way to follow up on that sweet conversation!
- Raising Dragons – Speaking of reading out loud, I ordered this for the grandboys for just that purpose. It was recommended by my favorite Bible iPhone app – Laridian’s PocketBible – and the description says, “Raising Dragons is a contemporary fantasy novel, the first book in the best-selling Dragons in our Midst series. This story inspires young people to dig deep within to find their God-given strengths and use them to overcome any obstacle. It is both a hair-raising, modern-day adventure and a glimpse into another world a world of knights, dragons, and fair maidens.” Sounds perfect for young men who love Dragons, monsters, super heroes, and God. I’ll keep you posted. 🙂
- Go Fish SuperStar CD – My grandkids continue to love the Go Fish Guys. We already have the Ten Comandment Boogie from this, but I went ahead and bought the whole CD which includes other favorite praise and worship music like Lord I Lift Your Name on High and a pre-teen version of Jesus Loves Me that should be fun (tho we also love the traditional and sing it often :)).
- The Jesus Storybook Bible and the The Jesus Storybook Bible Curriculum Kit – This is especially great for our younger grandkids on up to about pre-tween. My long distance grandkids already have and love the Jesus Storybook Bible. The curriculum kit includes that book plus adds to it with 44 lessons revealing how Jesus is the center of each Bible story and how every story whispers his name. Among other things, they also got 44 bonus animated videos. Since they just returned from a vacation, they got their gift early to enjoy during driving times and all gave it a big thumbs up!
Fun Christian encouragement ideas for Easter gifts for kids and grandkids of all ages. I love to point my grandkids eyes to Jesus as often as possible, and what better way to do that at this time of the year then by including inspirational books and uplifting praise and worship music in their Easter baskets and bags. Got more ideas? We’d love to hear. 🙂
Such sweet and thoughtful gifts for your grandchildren. Your ahead of the game–now you can relax right? I bet not with dinner and everything–but it’s fun to plan.

Inspirational Christian Easter Gifts Ideas for Kids and Grandkids in … http://t.co/Bv0Rz2o5
Hi Ann – well I thought so, but so far I am waiting on two slow packages of books I decided to add to the mix AND I have to get it all organized. And it’s getting closer – YIKES – best run and do it 🙂 🙂 🙂 Have a lovely week!
Is the dragons book also appropriate for an avid 8 year- old female reader?
Hi, I ended up getting the audio book for my grandkids – one loved it, the other two couldn’t get into it, at least – not yet. I haven’t listened to all of it yet, but it did seem geared more for a bit older child. You can read a bit more about it at http://www.titletrakk.com/book-reviews/raising-dragons-review-davis.htm 🙂
