I’m really enjoying reading through a couple of the Randy Alcorn books about heaven – for kids and for adults. I’ve put the 50 Days of Heaven by my sink to read one each day and what a blessing it has been. Plus my grandkids and I are now working on the encouraging Bible memory verses about heaven that I’ve been sharing with them. It’s as big a spirit-lifter for me as for them!
When I was looking for uplifting praise and worship music to go with this week’s Bible verses, I saw a new heaven and a new earth…And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them….He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…” Rev. 21:1,3,4, I found two that I thought went well with this passage. My favorite, There Will Be A Day by Jeremy Camp was one I shared last fall.
The second, No Tears in Heaven, is totally new to me. Here’s a YouTube video featuring the First Baptist Church Panama City.
Oh my, both these songs, the old and the new Christian praise hymns, just put such a longing in my heart for the Lord to return and take us home to heaven. And that’s especially true when we are dealing with the sadder issues of the Sandwich Generation, isn’t it? Like prolonged illness, Alzheimers DIsease, pain and suffering, grief and death… But someday…. And I can’t wait. Then again, as Paul wisely wrote in Phil. 1:21, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” And He is, indeed, such a blessed encourager to us, right here on this old and fallen earth. Praise God! 🙂
I’ve heard this song before but isn’t it amazing how certain words and phrases stand out just when you need them? Awesome choir, too. I always enjoy the age span in church choirs.

This is a song that was sung often at one of our former churches. I guess you know I love Randy Alcorn’s books. It’s such a good idea to instill a love of heaven in the hearts of children. I love that verse about a new heaven and a new earth. For years I thought of heaven as only being somewhere up yonder and kind of wondered what the new earth was for but didn’t give it much thought. Randy really makes it clear.
Thanks for being so faithful in sharing with us.
Blessings,
Charlotte
I know what you mean Charlotte! I was intrigued by some of his comments about the new earth. Like you, I’d heard of it but not thought much about it. Very interesting AND exciting. 🙂 Thanks for popping by!
Thanks for your sweet words of encouragement, Pamela. And I’m so glad it was an encouragement to you as well. 🙂
