Reading together is one of the favorite activities for grandparents and their grandchildren that my grandkids and I love! From Bible stories for kids to Pilgrim's Progress, Clifford to Boxcar Children, and I Spy to Amelia Bedelia, we do love to read together. Another favorite genre of mine for reading is holidays! I love to read Christmas books at Christmas time, Easter books at Easter time, and currently, it's Halloween and Harvest time books that has our rapt attention.
I found four new-to-me books that I love and my grandkids have all given thumbs up approval as well. I, personally, prefer to focus on the more positive side of Halloween and avoid ghosts and witches for the most part and these all qualify in that area. They are:
- Clifford's Puppy Days – Halloween Howl
- Clifford and the Halloween Parade
- I Spy A Pumpkin – My older grandchild's favorite
- Happy Halloween, Biscuit! – My younger grandkids' favorite because it has pages that open and my own personal favorite – because it includes grandparents AND granddogs!
I love new and interesting books for my grandkids – especially holiday oriented. They're more fun for me to read, they're often educational, the grandkids enjoy the variety, and reading out loud plus talking about the story makes for excellent activities for grandparents and their grandchildren for teaching phonics! Definitely A+ in this Sandwich Generation Granny Nanny's book! And guess what! For the time being, these four books are eligible for Amazon's 4-for-3 promotion!
