Oh – my – gracious! Can you believe Ash Wednesday was last week, February 17, and Easter is coming along quickly on April 4. Wasn't Christmas just last week!?!?!?!?! Well, you know what they say, time flies when you're having fun. Then again, for the Sandwich Generation grandparents, staying so busy dealing with the issues of caring for the elderly parents in our families and babysitting grandchildren, time also flies when you are really busy! 🙂 And since this granny nanny has been having fun with the grandkids AND staying really busy, time has been flying at supersonic speed!
BUT, it's time for the grandkids and me to start doing some fun Lent and Easter activities and ideas. Every year we spend time during the Lent and Easter season having fun together while telling each other the story of Jesus Christ, His birth, His death, His resurrection, and all sorts of interesting facts in between. One of my favorite tools for this is my set of Easter Resurrection Eggs.
I guess it's also time for me to dig out my Easter books, Spring Animals and Christian Easter clipart, and maybe even buy a couple of new Easter crafts books or craft kits. Country Clip Art by Trina & Friends has Easter clipart on sale. Not only that, we just started getting a second paper this week. That means I'll have TWO coupons for Michael's Crafts. Woo-hoo! I always love great ways to save money on grandkid projects! 🙂
I'll definitely keep you posted on how it goes with the grandkids and the Resurrection Easter Eggs, along with other projects we come up with during this holiday season. And I'd love to hear of any Easter traditions you and your Sandwich Generation family enjoy together – whether it's easy crafts for all, from kids to seniors, special church activities, etc. 🙂
P.S. Would you like a set of Easter Resurrection Eggs for you and your own grandchildren? Check with your local Christian book stores to see if they still have them in stock, or click here for more information from Family Life Ministries. OR head to my post, Fun Educational Easter Activities for Grandparents and Grandchildren with LEGOs and Easter Eggs, for ideas of how to make your own. 🙂
