I'm definitely having fun with wordplay this summer! Last week I made several of ewe chuckle with my c-EWE-t Word-filled Wednesday. Today – check out the headline. So fun! And sooo true. 🙂 One of my grandchildren came over earlier this week and we had such a delightful time.
We played our much loved Sequence for Kids board game as well as Trouble, which is a variation of an old family fave – Aggravation. We climbed the slide and rode on the swings at the park and later, he enjoyed the playland at Chick-fil-A. We even got to do some serious weeding of the boomer-senior gardening projects of the butterfly bush plant, the Mr Lincoln Rose bush and the sunflower houses that aren't doing so hot due to the HOT weather. Check out my video of this tiny but still fun garden:
He was especially enthused at helping me garden as he is saving his money for a toy that is totally new to me, but he assures me it is VERY COOL! A friend of his has it and he just LOVED it. It's a Paper Jamz Cardboard Guitar! What are Paper Jamz Guitars, you ask? That was my question! Until he told me about them, I had NO CLUE! But something that motivates one of my grandkids to work AND save was definitely worth checking out, so I did. And now, I have a tiny clue! 🙂 Here's what they look like:

And this is the Wow Wee Paper Jamz Guitar Series 2 – Style 2.
According to Amazon, Our grandkids can "become an instant rock star with Paper Jamz! It's not air guitar… it's music for real!" It has technology that "allows you to play like a pro just by touching the Paper Jamz' guitar's fret and strumming the strings image."
One reviewer at Amazon wrote,
"Both of my boys love their Paper Jamz. This is a fun toy, but not educational since you don't have to have any knowledge or talent to play it. It's purpose is pure fun. If your kids enjoy music, they will enjoy this toy. I plan to branch out and buy the other paper jamz pieces in the future. For durability I give it a 4 because the face of it is made of paper, so the boys need to be carefull not to use their nails to play it."
Frankly, I have no idea if this will be a sustainable toy or turn into one of those toys that are played with 2 times and then land in the dustpile. I am pleased he is working hard to earn money AND that he is also working to save for it. That's definitely a big step for him and I'm quite proud of him. And hopefully that will increase it's value and lasting power. 🙂 I do wish, though, it offered Christian songs among the choices, and hopefully that will come down the road. It took awhile, but another popular music toy, Guitar Hero, finally got that. Do any of your kids or grandkids have one of these Paper Jamz toy guitars? How did they like them? How well do they hold up? What do you think of them? We'd love to hear! 🙂
P.S. If your kids or grandkids are also looking for these, my grandson and I did a search for the best price on these Paper Jamz toy guitars and found that Amazon currently has the best prices for both the Paper Jamz Guitar Series 2, Style 2 and Style 4! My grandson was also thrilled to discover we could order it online with my free shipping on Amazon with my Prime Discounts Membership meaning he doesn't have to save quite as much money! That's always one of my favorite and practical ways to save money – no matter how old the shopper. 🙂
