Happy Holiday clip art fun for the Sandwich Generation with this cute country clipartAsh Wednesday – the beginning of the season of Lent – is coming quickly – on February 22, 2012!  Tuesday is Valentine's Day. Oh my, what with juggling all the various issues of the Sandwich Generation, doesn't it seem like time is on jet-propelled roller skates! 🙂

I don't know about you, but the one thing that keeps me going and keeps holding me together is the care and provision of God! As the encouraging and comforting Bible verses from Psalm 3 reminded me yesterday, "But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me." What a blessing and gift for each of us from our awesome God!

Another precious gift, that I've been thinking of extra this past week, is His love! Here's one of my many favorite praise and worship hymn songs, Amazing Love, reminding us of exactly that, from a group that's a multigenerational fave in our family – the Newsboys.

Wasn't that lovely? And aren't those words so sweetly encouraging, especially with the season of Lent and Easter fast approaching. God's love is, indeed, the best Valentine gift ever for all of us – in AND out of the Sandwich Generation! As much fun and a good way of "caring for the caregivers" as a Happy Holiday blog party (like yesterday's blog post) can be, nothing beats God and His awesome Word in bringing comfort and care to all of us caregivers!  Have a blessed and beautiful week full of the knowledge of His extravagant and powerful love, even in the midst of trials! (And YES, there is more "Valentine blog party" encouragement at Spiritual Sunday this week to bless us all. 🙂 )

  1. Kaye,
This is insightful. Like Angie, I hadn’t looked at Valentine’s Day from a Godly perspective.

I love the opportunity to love on people that it brings.

I’d never thought of God’s love in terms of Valentine’s Day. This year that is what I’ll celebrate with my family, not the commercial holiday it has turned into – thank you so much!

Very lovely, Dear, thank you. Wishing you a very Happy Valentine’s Day. Thank the Lord for His love. 🙂

  2. Amen, Cathy, AMEN. 🙂

  3. Oh Karen, thank you so much for those sweet and encouraging words. What a blessing to be used by Him. 🙂

  4. Hi Sheila, Thank you 🙂 I have such fun finding creative ways to turn holiday time into special times of sharing God’s love with the grandkids and others. It’s a joy! And it’s a double joy to have company on the journey. 🙂

  5. Hi Angie, thank you so much for your words of encouragement. God is awesome and it’s such fun to share that Good News with all our loved ones, isn’t it. 🙂

  6. This is one of my favorite praise songs too. It has been ever since the first time I heard it and sang it. And I sure agree with you about the time. It will be time to put the Christmas tree up again in a few days. At least it will just seem like a few days. It’s incredible.
Thank you for sharing with us each week on Spiritual Sundays. You are a great encouragement to me and to many others.
    Blessings,
    Charlotte
