I've had some lovely visits with grandchildren over the past few weeks – both near and far grandkids. One of the fun and physical grandkid and senior citizen activities we enjoyed together was lots of walking.
Sometimes it was with one grandchild. Sometimes a group of us. Sometimes we all walked. Sometimes they rode their kids razor scooters. Always it was fun, made lovely memories, and was healthy exercise for this boomer, since walking is definitely one of the waysmy senior mom loves Dr Oz who has some great tips for how people over 40 or 50 can raise their metabolism – something I can always use!
I really enjoy walking, but I have to admit, there were some times I would have enjoyed going as fast as my wheeled grandkids.
Those were the moments I remembered my grandma riding one of those three wheel bicycles – a "tricycle for adults." My own kids loved riding it as well – even when they were wobbly on a regular bicycle – as they are easier to ride. With three wheels, it's just like a kids trike – simpler and more stable.
Of course, my little mini exercise bike is a good way to get some extra exercise, along with walking with my grandkids. But it's also nice to get some variety – as variety is "the spice of life." Hmmmm, fun to think about, that's for sure. 🙂 What do you like to do for interesting and healthy grandkid and senior citizen activities?
