HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE TO SANDWICH GENERATION GRANDPARENTS EVERYWHERE!
Are you still looking for fun and easy activities for grandparents and grandchildren who may pop over for New Year's Eve? If a combination of easy and difficult, or should I say – challenging, jigsaw puzzles aren't enough, be sure to check out last year's post, New Year's Eve Plans with The Grandchildren. Then again, if you want something that is much easier, here's a favorite craft project of my grandchildren and it's one of those ultra easy crafts that's also inexpensive – definitely two favorite words for this Sandwich Generation granny nanny. Even our sweet seniors might enjoy one of these ideas.
Easily purchase and print out cute pictures of country clipart – here's examples of my some of my grandkids' favorites. They love the knight and princess clipart I bought:
OR some fun superheros coloring pages
OR how about some adorable animal pictures (hmmm – here's a fun idea within an idea – take pictures of your grandkids' Webkinz stuffed animals like my grandson's Panda and print them out I'll have to do that as well. I know three little grandboys who would LOVE that idea! And some grandgirls as well! )
If the pictures aren't in color, have your grandchildren color them. They can then cut the pictures out. Provide them with popsicle craft sticks and glue sticks and help them glue their pictures onto the craft sticks. When done, sit back and applaud the fun puppet show they will put on for you.
Another easy project is to have your grandchildren pick out cute snowman clipart, copy them onto one corner of a sheet of paper, and print them out. Then have the the grandkids fold them and write little notes, their Bible memory verses, or even just sign their names on them. Voila, fun handmade winter's greetings cards for some special seniors who are missing working on their gardening because of the cold weather.
Or maybe even get a head start with a Happy Valentine card using cute country holidays clipart and maybe some sweet scrapbook inspirational verses and sayings. They make nice verses for greeting cards as well.
Whatever you decide, have a wonderful time with these fun and easy crafts for the whole family – from your sweet seniors to your adorable grandkids. And have a FUN, blessed, and safe New Year's Eve!
P.S. Speaking of clipart, I have to tell you, I LOVE Trina & Friends country clipart. She has such a great selection of regular and holiday clipart along with awesome prices and a wonderful useage policy – perfect for this granny nanny who is also a baby boomer blogger. 🙂 And perfect, as well as easy to download, for fun planned or spur-of-the-moment craft activities for grandparents and grandchildren at your house! I've been using her clip art for several years and highly recommend it!
