God is love. Such simple words yet so full of wonder, awe, and power! My little Raggedy Ann bookmark is fun to teach children the Bible verse, which is a vital beginning. But it takes a lifetime to just begin to grasp the magnitude of these awesome words. And what a sweet joy to know that when Christ is our Savior that love is ours for an eternity. As Paul writes in Romans 8,
I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Some of the little ways we can encourage our grandkids, not to mention our senior parents, and everyone else in our family, is sharing the teeny miracles God blesses us with all through the day. Twice yesterday my grandkids misplaced things. We immediately prayed about them, and within minutes both were found – and in the oddest places. As I told my grandboys, those were such sweet examples of the way God loves us – even in our smallest needs. How much more does His love bless us in the midst of huge needs.
Speaking of blessing, here's a lovely praise song from the Bill Gaither Vocal Band for us to enjoy, The Love of God.
Sweet Sunday blessings, indeed, to all of us – in AND out of the Sandwich Generation!
I’ve always liked Raggedy Ann. I was a Raggedy Ann once. My cousin and I tap danced together and one of the dances we did required Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy costumes. They were cute costumes. We even wore them to a Halloween costume contest in our little town and won first prize one year. I was about 8 years old.
Love the Gaithers. They sing with such passion. Thank you for sharing the video.
Blessings,
Charlotte
I love this song-maybe because it talks about the quill, ink and scroll!
I’m a fan of Raggedy Ann and her heart of love, too.
Oh, that song was beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing it. I just tweeted it. 🙂 It’s great your grandkids are learning to pray like that to find something. I do that a lot. Thanks for your sweet visit.
Thanks for those sweet words of extra encouragement Cathy! 🙂 Blessings.
What fun family memories Charlotte. I bet you were an adorable pair! 🙂 Have a blessed week!
