Ooooh – gotta tell you something GRAND but you have to hurry! It's not just me who's in a holiday mood! The crafts stores are too. And not just Halloween and Harvest goodies anymore either!
My senior mom and I popped into Michael's crafts yesterday and discovered so many fun and easy crafts ideas for the grand kids – it definitely made both of us seniors very happy. And you can bet, the grandkids will be thrilled as well!
One of our all-time favorite projects is foamie gingerbread houses and they had those marked down 40% through Saturday (that's why you've got to RUN!). They also had plaster Christmas village houses for grandkids to enjoy painting. And even some cute Christmas tree ornaments to decorate with their own personal spin.
I like to stock up on things like these for overnight babysitting so we can spend extra time on it. Shhhh, don't tell, but we also found some fun surprises for Christmas stockings.
And by the by, have you discovered the Michael's app yet? It has a bunch of goodies on it, but the only one I use – and use often, I might add – is their coupon button. There you SHOULD find the most current coupon available, so you don't lose out if you ran out of the house without it. I will caution you, I would still grab that paper coupon if you can. One time I went to Michael's, opened the app, and it was BLANK. And apparently, that does happen periodically. They were wonderful, knew which coupon it was, and gave it to me anyway. But just to be safe, the paper wouldn't hurt. However, overall, I give their app a B+++
Have you started stockpiling for fun and easy Christmas projects, crafts and activities for your Sandwich Generation family – from kids to seniors? We'd love to hear. 🙂
