Have the Sandwich Generation issues been getting tougher? Are you and your family dealing with grief, maybe even hospice? If so, I hope and pray this series on comforting Bible verses is a blessing to you. These verses have encouraged me through minor trials and major crises for years and I hope they will do the same for you! And when it comes to comforting Scriptures, Isaiah is a favorite book of mine, including Isaiah 43:1b-2 :
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you."
Isn't that encouraging! I love Bible verses that remind us that NO MATTER WHAT, God is there with you, watching out for you, protecting you, and caring for you. Truly, we can trust God with our everything!
The Message Bible is a paraphrase – one man's way of expressing the same message using different words. Sometimes it is spot on. Other times, not so much. And in this verse, he's a bit different from the actual words of this verse, but so on target with the spirit, that I love it as well!
"Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're Mine. When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you. When you're in rough waters, you will not go down. When you're between a rock and a hard place, it won't be a dead end."
Talk about encouraging Bible verses! I can't tell you the times I've felt stretched beyond my limits, taken these verses or a list of all my comforting Bible verses and headed for the door. It's amazing what a fast paced walk around a block or ten, while repeating encouraging Bible verses over and over, can do to your flagging spirits! This type of "therapy" was an extra-special blessing to me several times when my family was dealing with the grief and all the care needs that accompanied my sweet dad being placed in a hospice program!
There are several wonderful praise and worship hymn songs to encourage us in trusting God no matter what. On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand by Avalon is one of my favorites. Another is, I Will Trust In You by Jeremy Camp from his album, Carried Me: The Worship Project
.
I love Jeremy Camp and his wonderful ministry of praise and worship hymn songs and music, and that song is definitely one of my favorites. When I am feeling afraid, worried, or stressed, I can read Isaiah 43:1b-2 several times, then play this song and sing over and over, "I will trust in YOU!" Encouraging Bible verses from Psalm 55 and 56 include this exact phrase so I know I am being encouraged by the Word of God in word and music and am doubly blessed! I pray you will be as well.
Check back next Sunday for more in our series of Comforting Bible verses to encourage your heart. And check out Spiritual Sunday this week as well.

Hi Ruth, Thank you for popping by. π
Wonderful, uplifting, encouraging post! Powerful, practical and easy to understand. Wonderful Scripture!! The video is not my favorite type of music but I realize that it meets the needs of many in a powerful way. But overall, I can’t think of strong enough words to tell you how helpful your post is. Thank you for posting.
Thank-you so much for this Scripture. With my mom getting older and my mother in law 80 this verse will be close to my heart.
God Bless,
Ginger

Hi Kaye, I really enjoyed the video. It reminds me that Christ is our lighthouse… our rock, our guide in the dark and our shelter in the storm. We need to cling to Him and keep trusting Him.
These are such encouraging scriptures, and the video is perfect for this post. Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Hi Virginia, Thank you! Have a blessed and beautiful week! π
Hi Whidbey Woman, Amen and AMEN!!! You are in my prayers! π
Hi Ginger, Amen! π
Hi Clif, Praise God! That is very encouraging. π RE; THe music, as a Baby Boomer started off in a traditional Protestant denomination who later switched to non-denominational and who God has had floating in various denominations the last few years as we have been moving about the country, I love almost every kind of praise and worship hymn songs and music from the sweet old hymns, to the contemporary Christian. So stay tuned, there’ll be plenty of the hymns I’m guessing you prefer as well π π π And have a blessed week! π
