Christian Encouragement from The Sandwich Generation Granny Nanny and Grandkids

As you know, my grandkids and I have been having fun reveling in the glories of autumn, counting down the days (minutes 🙂 ) to Halloween, enjoying fun Fall Harvest Fests at church and school, and preparing the sweets and encouragement for the upcoming Halloween treats I'll be giving out on the 31st. Since this year has been extra busy for our Sandwich Generation family in terms of health issues and other goings ons, I once again relied on my wonderful local Christian bookstore and had a good time with one grandchild picking out cute "pass-it-ons with encouraging Bible verses to put in each goodie bag. Here are two of my favorites – and I suspect a granddog or two would agree, don't you think? 🙂

should christians celebrate halloween is a question that has to be answered by each individual but our Sandwich Generaton family loves to share Godly AND sweet treats with children

Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you. Psalm 50:15a

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6

Don't those "granddogs" look adorable! I would think a lot of kids would love to keep them around or stick them in their locker. And aren't those encouraging and comforting Bible verses? I love the thought that many of these cards may end up in the hands of families who have never been exposed to the Word of God before. As I tell my grandkids, we are planting seeds and it's up to God to water them, feed, them, and raise them. We may never know, this side of heaven, if these have had any impact at all. But having done this for over 30 years, I'm trusting Him that He has used at least some of these seeds for His glory and honor. 🙂 And what fun family memories we've all enjoyed with them.

How about you? Do you have a special way of sharing the love of God with the kids in your Sandwich Generation neighborhood or beyond? We'd love to hear. And be sure to pop over to Internet Cafe Devotions for even more uplifting Bible verses, thoughts, and more autumn reveling with Amy's fall colors. It's always such a blessing on Word-Filled Wednesday. 🙂  And…
