Christian Encouragement - The 10 Commandments Wall Art Plaque is a great reminder for the Sandwich Generation granny nanny grand kids & your grand childrenFor the 10 commandments Bible Memory verses series for kids this week, we worked on the 8th commandment – do not steal. As I tell my grandkids, don't steal – DO give! And, of course, the Bible teaches us that it is more blessed to give than receive. Such important lessons that can be so hard for ALL of us to learn, even those of us in the Sandwich Generation caring for elderly parents and babysitting grandchildren.

We caregivers spend a lot of time giving – giving time, giving care, giving….  But it's just as important to give with the right heart attitude, and that's why I love this song, Give It Away, by the Gaithers Vocal Band. It's great for us to enjoy and great for us to share with the grandkids, along with sharing our examples with them, so enjoy another of my Smilebox ecards creations. 🙂

Wasn't that fun! It put a smile on the face of this granny nanny – how about you? And for more great praise and worship music along with plenty of encouraging and comforting Bible verses, be sure to visit Spiritual Sunday

    Hello Kaye;
It is so much more a blessing to give. I Love that God put that within me to do. It just makes me want to glorify God that much more. Thank you for visiting my blog. I was so pleased that the first comment recognized the fact that I said son, instead of sun. Thank you for pointing that out to my readers. God Bless You.

  1. 🙂 Patti, thanks 🙂 Have a blessed week.

  2. 🙂 You’re very welcome Sherry. Shows we have great minds – as in “Great minds think along the same track!” 🙂 With the Sunflower House last year and this, that’s been a great reminder to me as well. 🙂

  3. I sure can relate to you this week. I’ve had my grandchildren (4 & 14mos.) here four days a week for the last two weeks and I am pooped! I’ve been clinging to the verse, “the joy of the Lord is my strength!” And to think, I used to have five little boys and I somehow kept up with them! I’m feeling my age! Plus I’ve been checking up on my dad who is home alone with my mom out of town…it certainly is the sandwich years! Thank you for the encouragement your blog gives:)

    Blessings,

  8. A beautiful lesson for your grandkids to learn. It is so much more blessed to give than receive. In the giving, the Lord pours out His blessings upon us so that we are not in need.
    Thank you for this lesson.

  9. Blessings Kaye,

Dancing to that happy Gaither song to GIVE IT AWAY. What a beautiful continuation of the lesson on the 10 commandments!
This has been such an inspirational week here! This is a WOO grand finale… love getting my attitude in tune with this! I’m SMILING from ear to ear… (corny that is with your scarecrow). A true blessing to Give rather than expect to receive, too! I’m sorry to say but I think we’ve raised one generation that lives with expectancy and got it coming attitude, but you are blessing your grandkids so much with these wonderful lessons! May God bless all of you and enrich your lives as you soak in His truths!!!

    Peace,
    Peggy

  10. Adorable! And it’s true — love giving. It blesses me. How wonderful to teach your children Bible truths. Even as a child I love the image of God writing the 10 commandments with His finger. I knew they must be very special.

  11. Great thoughts, Pamela. Wouldn’t it have been awesome to get to see it. Praise God that someday, we will get to be in heaven with Him forever! 🙂

  12. 🙂 Thanks Peggy. I know how you feel, and it can be discouraging. But then God reminds me that there has always been sin in ALL generations – BUT SOMEDAY – Revelations 21 – no more tears, God making EVERYTHING new. EVERY knee shall bow. JOY! 🙂 So He gives me the energy to keep plugging away, sharing encouraging and uplifting Bible verses, and striving hard at leaving a spiritual legacy pointing all, including my sweet grandkids, to HIM – just as I know you are doing as well! What JOY together in HIM. 🙂

  13. Amen, Janis, AMEN!!!! 🙂

  14. AWESOME Ginger. That’s so sweet. 🙂
