Spring is in the air – at least for this Sandwich Generation granny nanny and her senior mom and half the grandkids.
My senior mom, who comes by her love of gardening naturally from my grandpa, and I went to the store and added some potting mix and organic compost to our grocery carts along with oranges and avocados. She has already started the Mammoth Sunflower seeds and some peonies in small containers, that she wheels back and forth using a handy dandy garden wagon.
She loves Miracle-Gro potting soil and I love that they now offer organic options. While I don't garden nearly as much as her, I inherited my grandfather's love for all things Rodale, including their great Organic Gardening Magazine (only back then, it was the Organic Gardening and Farming Magazine.).
She was quite pleased when I came home and dug up the patch we grew the Sunflower House in last year, then sprinkled my organic compost on it. We won't plant for another couple of weeks, while we wait to see what the weather will do. But it's nice to have started. And talk about fun and physical senior citizen activities – it was definitely a bit of a workout! But that was good, as there were no grandkid games for me today and I definitely need to keep up my regular exercise! 🙂
In the meantime, there are so many lovely flowering trees everywhere, she and I are in PINK heaven as I snap away with my easy to use digital camera! 🙂
As you probably guessed, with all these lovely pink trees, I am linking to Pink Saturday with Bev. 🙂
Beautiful trees and definitely great for Pink Saturday.
I think I too am in pink heaven. Wow, if I had that view I would never get anything done. I think I would be in dream land most of the day.
Sounds like a great magazine for those of us that love to garden.
Happy Pink Saturday, Char

Hi Lynn, Yes, we love their products. Especially since they added the organic line which is my fave. Have a blessed Easter! 🙂
