As you know, I am always on the look out for good Bible memory verses for children and grandchildren to share with you as well as teach to my grandkids – either as memory verses or as examples throughout our busy days. Today I was reminded of 1 Corinthians 16: 14 (NIV) – Do everything in love!
Isn't that a wonderful goal for all of us, from grandkids to great-grandparents, in our Sandwich Generation families!
Our summer Bible Memory Verses for our children and grandchildren, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, 13, gave some excellent examples of the "Biblical definition of love," but that's not the only place to find concrete examples of love in the Bible.
Romans 12:9-21 (NIV) has another great list of Bible verses for all of us, and they are especially good for sharing with our children and grandchildren.
Love must be sincere.
Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.
Honor one another above yourselves.
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Live in harmony with one another.
Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.
Do not be conceited.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil.
Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath,
for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.
On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Put them together with a picture like this and you have one passage of encouraging and uplifting Bible verses teaching us about another passage of inspirational Bible verses. A great way for us to learn along with a fun way to teach our grandkids! I love it when that happens, don't you!

Kaye, do everything in love is so very important. I love these verses from John. I love that you teach the little ones and the older to memorize Scripture.
Blessings and love,

Hi Debbie, Thanks. And you know what’s also great about all that – as God uses me to plant the Word of God in their hearts, He plants the Word deeper and deeper into my heart – such a gift from God! 🙂
