Autumn is Definitely The Sandwich Generation Granny Nanny's Favorite Season

The Sunflower House did not do as great as last years houses but we did get some lovely sunflowers for my senior mom and my grandkids to enjoy with our gardeningIt's only mid-August. There's still another month til my favorite season – AUTUMN. But signs of fall keep cropping up everywhere – on the net, on TV, and very definitely – in our boomer & senior gardening projects. Part of it is the sweet sunflowers that are blooming. Thanks to weird weather, health woes, and other family needs, our gardening has been fairly minimal this year. The Sunflower House did not really work out too well this year. But there was enough to interest the grandkids and we do have some purty flowers to share with you all. In fact, with the help of my Canon Powershot digital camera, along with the easy to use digital camera in my iPhone, voila! Here are some sunflowers that hint at Autumn.

These sunflowers did not make a very big sunflower house this year but the Sandwich Generation granny nanny loves the coloring

along with one that's the traditional yellow but lightly on the puny side – still pretty, though!

Yup - a bit puny for our senior gardening efforts this year - but still a lovely little flower enjoyed by grandparents and grandchildren alike

More Hints of Autumn Mean More Fun Times Playing Outside with the Grandkids

Those aren't the only hints of autumn. Even though it's still above average temps here, they are MUCH cooler than last month. Enough so, that I've been quite comfortable in long jeans instead of shorts. And we had such a great time playing softball yesterday – in the mid-morning, when it was too hot and humid to do so just a couple of weeks ago! And  look at these autumn leaves on the ground!

Even some of the cute posies my senior mom planted, back when she was doing more gardening, have some orange in them

Autumn is Coming and Our Whole Sandwich Generation Family Is Happy!

Yup, it's not here yet, but AUTUMN IS COMING! And I can't wait! My grandkids enjoy it as well. They'll miss the swimming, but they love the cooler temps that let us get out and play even more games, like softball! And my senior mom is counting the seconds til more consistent cooler weather. Autumn and spring are definitely the top fave seasons in our Sandwich Generation family. How about you? What's your family's favorite season? Is it the same as yours? 🙂

P.S. For more fun posts to enjoy, I'm linking up with Sweet Shot Tuesday – with a fun contest and an upcoming series to help us do even more with our easy to use digital camera and Pink Saturday – full of so many delightful pink things to brighten our day. Have fun! 🙂

P.P.S. GUESS WHAT, not only does my favorite easy to use digital camera series, the Canon Powershots, come in red and pink cameras – they also have autumn colors of brown and orange! Isn't this too cute!  :)

I like Autumn, but my favourite is Spring and Summer!
    nice flowers!!!

  4. The pictures of the flowers are beautiful. My Dad lived with us for a while so I know what it’s like to have three generations under one roof. When life get so crazy with so much to do it’s hard to be still and appreciate the dynamic of an older generation’s wisdom available.

  5. Hey hey hey, Michelle. I LOVE finding more autumn fans. Fall is soooo awesome – with great leaves, fun crafts, and lovely decorations – especially scarecrows. I…can’t….wait! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  6. Hi Ewa, 🙂 Spring is my second fave. And summer is nice for fun outside activities for grandparents and grandchildren. I’m even learning to like winter. But ahhhh…autumn… 🙂 🙂 🙂

  7. What a lovely point, Wendy. Thank you for sharing that. 🙂
