It's been a bit crazy the past few months for my whole Sandwich Generation family – not to mention various and sundry friends on and off-line. I was spending some quiet time with the Lord this week, praying about this weeks various issues and, as I often do when I am blessed with a sit-down Bible study (as opposed to listening to one while driving), I wrote down some of my prayers, including one asking for His blessing and guidance during some particularly complicated "whirlwinds" of issues we have been dealing with.
Then I opened my Bible and started reading from my daily passages and lo and behold, came to this one from Proverbs 10:25:
When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an EVERLASTING FOUNDATION!
Talk about sweet encouragement from the Word of God. I'm praying for ALL of us for wisdom and guidance and that awesome and everlasting and FIRM FOUNDATION to keep us close to Him during any and all whirlwinds we may be experiencing in this Sandwich Generation season of life, whether tiny little water spouts or ginormous tornados. thank you for this assurance from the word of God. this would have been a great scripture for our vacation snafu – He certainly blessed us to enjoy His everlasting foundation in the midst of a whirlwind. Happy Summer and have a great weekend!
I have had that happen to me too – a randomly opened book with just the perfect answer appearing. God is truly present in our lives and very personally involved. You expressed it here in a lovely way!
So thankful for that sure foundation…I’ve been standing on it amid my whirlwind! Beautiful reminder–I’m taking it with me!
