April Fools Day tricks can be a lot of fun for kids of all sizes and ages and that includes our grandkids. I always try to be sure to encourage fun April Fools day pranks for kids rather than lies, and to incorporate kindness in the process. As Proverbs says, “A merry heart does good, like medicine.” A good laugh is great for all of us, but not at someone else’s expense. It’s an excellent opportunity to teach those truths in a fun way.

I did a little websurfing and came up with a few sites full of fun April Fools Day ideas if you are going to see your grandkids today – although these are so cute you could have fun with them any day. :):

April Fools Day Food tricks are intriguing and delicious. FauxBerry Pie by Family Fun is hilarious AND practical! You get to make dinner. They think it’s dessert. A good laugh will be had by all (though I think I’d suggest having a real dessert waiting in the wings :) ).

In fact, what do you know, they also have a dessert that looks like a Pot Pie . How fun is that!

In addition to those two creations, Family Fun had several other great April Fools Day pranks for kids, including this one called, Bathroom Bankroll . Your grandkids will love you even more after you follow those directions!

Lotus Carroll of the  Nashville Parenting Examiner has a cute article with creative April Fools Day ideas for celebrating with a toddler. We Sandwich Generation grandparents don’t want to leave out those adorable littler grandkids!

Enchanted Learning , an excellent resource for activity sheets and other educational projects, has a page with a fun project and a wide variety of April Fools Day activity sheets for preschool on up. They can make fun activities for grandparents and grandchildren, make their teacher happy, and/or spice up your family’s homeschooling day.

Have a fun and happy Sandwich Generation Grandparents' April Fools Day – and, as my grandkids and I say, that’s for reals! :)

I’m going to try that Fauxberry Pie. I can’t wait to see the look on my kids’ faces.

Mocha Dad’s last blog post..Wednesday Wisdom: Be a Grandparent Now

Awesome, Mocha Dad! Let us know how it went 🙂 I thought they were both the coolest ideas but it wasn’t feasible for us this year. I did save it for future though plus sent it to all my kids 🙂
