Many of us in and out of the Sandwich Generation are enjoying Advent candles and wreaths along with devotionals full of words of encouragement this season to help us prepare our hearts for Christmas.
As I talk to different family members and friends, and read various blog posts online though, I have been reminded of how many hurting hearts there are among us which can make this season more difficult. I was so blessed to be reminded of these encouraging Bible verses and next time I light my Advent candles, I will be rejoicing that they don't just remind us of Christmas. They can also remind us that, thanks to the blessings of Easter and the Resurrection, there is so much joy that awaits us in heaven!
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him: And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night here; and they need no candle , neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. And He said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true…
Revelation 22:3-6a (NKJV)

Beautiful words!!!
Always looking forward to celebrate the season with family and friends. Happy Holidays ahead and may the spirit of Christ be with you always.
What a great reminder of what we have to look forward to. Amen come Lord Jesus.
“Comfort, comfort my people!” Amen…thank you for a reminder to slow down and be gentle and caring with those strangers around us!
We enjoy the Advent candle tradition at our house too. I love this verse and this thought for the day . . . as we light our candles tonight, I’ll remember that someday, there will be no need for such, for HE will be with us and we with Him!
sometimes, it’s nice to think of what is in store for us in heaven when we finally meet Jesus. no more tears, no more pain… such a perfect place to be.
I always love to celebrate the Advent. Thank you for sharing.
Your verse reminds me of an old song. “What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see, And I look upon His face, – the One who saved me by His grace; When He takes me by the hand, and leads me through the Promised Land, What a day, glorious day, that will be.” That’s just the chorus. I look forward to that day.
And we want need any lights.
Such a great reminder!!! Happy WFW!
