Our summer Bible memory verses activities for grandparents and their grandchildren are in full swing. We decided to shorten our song, a bit, to just:

Love is patient, Love is kind, Love never fails, Love never fails

– sung 2 times.

It’s much easier to sing, not to mention much easier for this granny nanny to remember. It’s also especially appropriate this week as we are now at:

Love is kind.

Being at the opposite extreme, with hot summer-like temperatures and a new big vinyl swimming pool, afternoons have found us all happy, yet tired, and even, sometimes, a bit grumpy. Perfect opportunities to talk about Love is (or should be) always patient and kind, even when we are tired or don’t feel like it.

And then, of course, God turns around and reminds me when I’m a bit cranky after a bad night’s sleep or in the middle of a nasty traffic jam! That’s one of the biggest blessings about spending a whole summer on a specific passage of inspirational Scriptures like this. We grownups are learning and growing as much as the kids! And that, in turn, proves to be a big blessing to our elderly parents as we can then practice extra patience and kindness with them.
