Our summer Bible memory verses activities for grandparents and their grandchildren are in full swing. We decided to shorten our song, a bit, to just:
Love is patient, Love is kind, Love never fails, Love never fails
– sung 2 times.
It’s much easier to sing, not to mention much easier for this granny nanny to remember. It’s also especially appropriate this week as we are now at:
Love is kind.
Don't these penguins look so patient and kind with this little one?
Being at the opposite extreme, with hot summer-like temperatures and a new big vinyl swimming pool, afternoons have found us all happy, yet tired, and even, sometimes, a bit grumpy. Perfect opportunities to talk about Love is (or should be) always patient and kind, even when we are tired or don’t feel like it.
And then, of course, God turns around and reminds me when I’m a bit cranky after a bad night’s sleep or in the middle of a nasty traffic jam! That’s one of the biggest blessings about spending a whole summer on a specific passage of inspirational Scriptures like this. We grownups are learning and growing as much as the kids! And that, in turn, proves to be a big blessing to our elderly parents as we can then practice extra patience and kindness with them.

And don’t forget to come back to SandwichINK on Friday for more activities for grandparents and their grandchildren centered around 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8, 13.

Cute picture. I just happen to be doing a study on love.
Love the sweet penguin picture for this verse. I know I don’t always show the patience and kindness that I should towards my children. It’s the kind of love Jesus showed to the crowds even when he was tired. I tend to be grouchy when I’m sleepy. 🙂
You and me both, GlowinGirl. That’s one of the reasons I’m loving this series for myself as well as for them. 🙂 🙂 🙂 It definitely holds me more accountable too! 🙂 Have a blessed Word-filled week!
Hi Wanda, How fun! Isn’t it great when God does that! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hi Shayne, Thank you 🙂 🙂 🙂 I really enjoyed reading your ideas for fun and memorable Memorial Day activities for grandparents and their grandchildren.
Hi Whidbey Woman, Aren’t they!!! 🙂 I just smiled so big when I saw them! 🙂
This is so sweet.
Hi Kaye. I love your blog and your boldness in speaking your mind about spiritual things. Thanks for the reminder to be more diligent about being patient – something I am working on. And thanks for commenting on my recent blog post.
This is a timely reminder for me, as my Mom is staying with us through June (she has Alzheimers), and I want to treat her with the love and respect she deserves. Yes, as you said, “extra patience and kindness” with her, as well as my grands when I am blessed to spend time with them.
Aw, Penguins are so cute. Especially the babies!
Love is very kind, indeed.
Awesome picture for this scripture! One just has to smile!
Thank you Denise 🙂
Hi Laurie, Amen! 🙂
Hi Missie, Thank you 🙂
Hi Amydeanne, loved the new set-up. Thanks for visiting 🙂
Hi Karen, Thank you! 🙂
That is so cute, Kaye. You are doing great with the grandchildren and Seniors. Blessings ~
Hi Cathy, Thank you. 🙂
