printable Christmas coloring pages and iPhone wallpaper

Merry Christmas season has begun for all of us in AND out of the Sandwich GenerationAdvent officially starts Sunday. But the Christmas spirit has bit my Sandwich Generation family BIG TIME. We've already done some Christmas shopping; the Christmas tree is up and in the process of being decorated, a couple ornaments at a time as the grandkids come to visit; and Christmas music is often found playing  in my car and house.

One of my grandchildren and I were singing a favorite old carol together, Angels We Have Heard on High. When we finished, he asked me what it meant. We had fun looking up the Bible passage that went with this lovely carol and working through the lyrics and the Scripture together. Then, we decided that would be perfect for this Christmas season – a fun way to teach them more about the songs they've grown up hearing and a sweet opportunity to hide more Scripture in all our hearts.

I made two cute pictures – one to teach the verses that Angels We Have Heard On High is based on.

Angels to encourage the Sandwich Generation granny nanny and grandkids

There appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 14 "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased. Luke 2:13-14

The second, which is currently in my iPhone, is a joy-filled reminder from the Psalms that God has long promised His people His peace. Such sweet joy.

The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11

And, of course, a couple of coloring pages for our grandkids to enjoy.

Spiritual Sundays are full of devotionals with encouraging Bible verses to bless the Sandwich Generation boomers and seniors busy caring for the elderly parents while babysitting grandchildren

I'm definitely having fun decorating for Christmas – at home and here at SandwichINK for the Sandwich Generation. I've even got my Christmas tree up, thanks to one grandchild. He also helped me put a few of my unique ornaments up, including these two cute things I got from Denise Brown at Caregiving.com during their holiday progressive blog party last year.

I love the stocking caregiving sent - it even has my name on it - Kaye Swain the Sandwich Generation granny nanny

And YES, there will be another one this year, full of more fun visits and giveaways, including a surprise from SandwichINK for the Sandwich Generation.

Not only that, there are other delightful holiday blog parties online and I'll be keeping you posted of others as I hear about them. It's a sweet treat for those of us caregivers who may be confined at home more than the norm. We may not always be able to get OUT to Christmas parties, but we can sure enjoy the Christmas parties that come to our very own computers in our very own home! And speaking of fun blog parties…Happy Rednesday!
