Tag, A Fairy House, and a Hideout for Army Toys for Grand-Kids = Fun Activities for Grandparents and Their Grandchildren!

by on August 31, 2010

Playing tag is a good way how people over 50 can raise their metabolism and this delightful tree is a great way to cool down afterwards

There's nothing like a rousing game of tag with your grandkids to work up a sweat, not to mention being a fun way how people over 50 can raise their metabolism and fight off the baby boomer calories that will NOT DIE. Plus being a delightful method of adding to your sweet family memories. That's my favorite kind of multi-tasking and definitely good news for all of us boomers and seniors!

Today, as we were playing tag, then taking breaks so we could breathe again, I was also enjoying the lovely shade and view of my grandkids' delightful old tree! It's so beautiful and such a haven for so many. The grandkids and this huffing and puffing granny nanny, of course. But also beautiful butterflies, bugs, not so beautiful slugs, spiders, and even an occasional Red Velvet Ant!

This tree is a home for spiders - slugs - bugs - ants and other little critters

It also has cute little hidey holes perfect for a pretend fairy house full of cute dollhouse people. We even found a single red berry hiding in one little "fairy house." We're not sure if it would be a lovely lamp or a delightful snack but it was most fun to find it.

Love this little fairy lamp for the fairy house we can fill full of dollhouse people

Then again, this is grandSONS I was playing with. Turns out they had different plans for those cute hidey holes. Army toys for kids, baby! :)

Playing army under the shade tree - with hide holes for the soldiers - is fun activities for grandparents and their grandchildren

These soldier toys will love the hidey holes in our big shade tree - fun activities for grandparents and their grandchildren

What fun ways to enjoy exercising and creative activities for grandparents and their grandchildren. And what sweet shots for Tuesday with my delightful and easy to use Canon Powershot a1100is digital camera. Sounds like loads of fun, except for the bugs! It sometimes amazes my son that he can actually have fun in the garden. After all there’s no computer, TV or video games out there so what’s the point! But when pushed, it’s fascinatig to see the games he comes up with using a few sticks and action figures!

Yup, Chloe. I push crafts or outside fun over TV most of the time and it’s well worth it. And when we are in watching TV, I strive for educational. Most days. I will admit to some days when this Sandwich Generation granny nanny is just plain tuckered or sick and then it’s anything goes (almost :) ), but most of the time… Thanks for stopping by :)
