I've canceled three appointments that were non-essential for my parents the past week due to the ice and the frigid temps. I can get rid of snow and ice pretty well in our driveway, but some trips aren't worth the risk of a fall in a parking lot that keeps icing up due to the snow and ice. I've bookmarked Ron's link. Snow can be so beautiful and rewarding in so many ways, but it can also be a hazard to seniors who have a hard time keeping their balance. This is often a big problem during the icy months, so be aware when you go outside to be extremely careful, and help those who need it! Railing should be sturdy, and steps should have salt placed on them to reduce the ice. Be careful! Take advantage of grocery delivery services, or Home Care Help services.
