I was quite encouraged by what the Mature Markets Experts had to say about 50 year old women. They believe they are “more experienced, wealthier, and more spiritually centered.” Overall, I definitely agree with the first and third point. I don’t think you can be quite so definite about the wealthier. For many in the Sandwich Generation, there are so many needs pulling at us, that might not always be true. But I definitely like how they finished the comment, “…at 50 [she is] only half way through her life. I’m feeling younger already. I guess they’re right, 60 really is the new 40! And thank goodness for that because caregiving takes a lot of energy!
Do you have granite or marble that needs cleaning regularly? Here’s a great site that has, among other things, a homemade granite & marble cleaner – http://tinyurl.com/cjr6pj I’m definitely bookmarking this site though I wish I’d found it two houses ago when I had some gorgeous black granite countertops…
Wyse Recipes has some yummy sounding recipes, including this crockpot scalloped potatos & ham http://is.gd/jORS . We’re going to give that a try in the next few days! I’ll let you know when we do. Let us know if you try it first! 🙂
Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer. I need that for sure for the computer woes which I’ve had big time this week! DON’T FORGET to back up your hard drive, defragment your computer, run your antivirus and antispyware software often, and do some occasional spring cleaning on your computer.
@MrElderCare has some great tips and links for us. First, make sure that when you go for your medical appointment, you write your questions down ahead of time. Also, when your doctor walks into the room, let him know you have a list of questions. I’ve been doing that for years and totally concur. It does seem to keep them around longer to answer the questions you have on your list.
Also, he provided a link to an informative and concerning article about Medicare and the elderly. http://a.gd/12266e

As you can see by the little Silver Alert info box on the bottom right, it has passed the House. It’s now in the Senate. Please give your senators a call and encourage them to pass this vital bill, which will give extra assistance to finding senior citizens who have disappeared, often due to dementia.
