Hi Ronin, Thanks for stopping by :) I heard you are doing a GREAT job at the rebuilding AND the advocate-ing :) My husband would have loved this kind of housing. During the Y2K concerns, we did have fun looking at various things including Yurts. While happy Y2K was a nothing, he was rather bummed at not getting to move into alternative housing then :) Then again, he also liked re-purposing housing like old Whistle-stops and train cars :)

Thank you for mentioning my blog ("The Life and Times of a Renaissance Ronin") in your post!

It appears that I've become an advocate of alternative housing, much to the amusement of my neighbors and relatives! Hey, all I'm trying to do is build a home for my family, to replace the one eaten by a hurricane!

Shipping Containers are VERY versatile. You can easily get two "bedrooms" and a bathroom out of one 40' container. It's very affordable, it's strong and durable, and it's easily blended into your existing housing "style." After all, it's a giant box! A blank slate!

Drop by if you want all the details!
