Love, Per 1 Corinthians 13, Keeps No Record of Wrongs

by on June 30, 2010

We all know the reputation the elephant has for never forgetting. That's why I thought he could help us with our Bible memory verses activities for grandparents and their grandchildren this week. I'm going to share with the grandkids that, like the elephant, there are plenty of things TO remember: like 911, important phone numbers and addresses, where your glasses are (oops, that's for this granny nanny when I'm having one of those never-admit-to-aging Baby Boomers Generation moments! ;) ).

This elephant is great for Bible memory verses activities for grandparents and their grandchildren to remind us that certain things SHOULD be forgotten

BUT, there is something we want to NOT remember.

Love…it keeps no record of wrongs.

1 Corinthians 13: 5b

That means, we forgive. Then we trust God and do our best to FORGET it ever happened. Yet another great example from 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 and 13 of God's love for us and the love He wants us to show to others. :)

Kaye,

This was so creative and so TRUE. I want to be forgetful when it comes to keeping my heart pure and forgiving.

And I’m so grateful God is towards my shortcomings as well.

Hope you have a blessed weekend ahead!!

“… and the greatest of these is love.” All the verses I’ve seen today are about the love of My Lord. I’m so glad I’m a part of the Family of God and His unfailing love.

Lori, you’re a sweetie and I loved your idea of using it with kids. Filing it away for future use.

Hi Ozjane, Thanks :) I must admit, I’m having a lot of fun with this and you should have heard my grandkids giggling over the pictures today while we were working on our Bible memory verses. :)

Your images/verses are so cute. Just love what you post each week! Is it okay if we borrow some for our Vacation Bible School? We have an African theme this year. Just email me and let me know. Thanks!

By the way, Whidbey Woman and Wanda (and others thinking of this for Sunday School or VBS), be sure to check back tomorrow, Friday, July 2. Have a fun idea coming for more animal Bible memory verses activities! :)

I love the idea of the elephant to teach this scripture. I’ll have to file that idea away for later use in Sunday School. Blessings to you.

Hi Wanda, Thank you! I love to hear that these are being used to teach other kids about God’s perfect love from 1 Corinthians 13 as well! :) And, like Lori, I also loved your pix today – another great one for Bible activities for grandparents and their grandchildren. :)
