Looking for Good Bible Verses For Your Grand-Children? We Love Psalm 1!

by on September 1, 2010

While playing multiple games of tag wtih my grandkids this week, along with plenty of other fun crafts and activities for grandparents and their grandchildren, we stayed cool in the heat under one of their lovely and HUGE trees. During a break in our activities, I grabbed my easy to use digital camera and started snapping some fun shots of them and of our surroundings. As I did so, I realized what a wonderful gift this tree is to us AND what a perfect illustration it is of one of my favorite Psalms, Psalm 1. It's a wonderful lesson and choice for Bible Memory verses for children, as well as being an excellent encouragement for all of us granny nannies and pappies in the Sandwich Generation, so I made sure to snap this photo to share with you.

Psalm 1 is a great Bible Memory Verses Lesson for grandparents AND their grand-children too

How blessed is the man

who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,

Nor stand in the path of sinners,

Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,

Which yields its fruit in its season

And its leaf does not wither;

And in whatever he does, he prospers.

Psalm 1:1-3

Blessings Kaye and THANK YOU so very much for all you shared with me! You are a God send. Though I have not checked it out, I am so thankful for the connection to your resources & the article.

Now on to this great Psalm and sturdy tree! WOW!!! That I could be that strong, rooted and sturdy in His Word, planted firmly always. Never wavering. Yielding fruit! Thankful we are connected by the spirit; you, Amanda and I so far!

Looks like a good climbing tree! So happy for you & the kids to be able to enJOY this tree and the tree of life in His Word! Great shot! (on 2nd thought maybe the branches are ready to crack)
(I almost said too old… but you know I’m that old)! Hmmmmmm

Thanks again and God bless you for sharing. That was my hope that all you WFWers could help me out. You’re the only one so far.
I have a friend that received a notice of copyright infringement and now has stopped blogging and I so enjoyed her sharing some really gorgeous photos she’d find. So I’m trying to learn before something like that happens to me. I’d hate to go through 800 posts taking out photos of others.

EnJOY WFW!!!
Peggy

Hi Peggy, You’re so welcome! And thank you for such lovely comments. We did have a lovely time. Fortunately the tree limbs are pretty high up so they haven’t been able to climb it. One less wrinkle for my forehead :) :) :)

I added one more link to your site that I thought offered a good rundown on copyright laws for you.

Have a blessed week! :)

I love your photo Kaye, and that Psalm is beautiful!

Trees and the like, seem to be a recurrent theme lately! I LOVE majestic old trees… there is something about them that show such strength and tenacity. If they survive the elements and live for so long, they have something to tell us. Then, there is always the threat of ‘man’, coming at it with a chain saw.

Great WFW!

Hi Amanda, I DID notice all the trees. I’m thinking it’s AUTUMN. I know it is for me. We’re reveling in the Autumn leaves that have been falling all around us! Summer came early – I’m praying autumn will too! :)

And what great points you made about them! I’ll have to share them with my grandkids :)

Hi Whidbey Woman, Isn’t it cool! We love it – especially the shade!!! Almost their entire yard is shaded, which is such a blessing on hot summer days. And you are very welcome! :)

One of my favorite verses! And you’re right — it’s a great one for kids. I love how God gives us things in nature that help us relate to Him. . . . teaching tools for us and our children.
