Green Words of Encouragement For The Sandwich Generation

by Kaye Swain on March 17, 2010

As Sandwich Generation senior home care givers and "granny nannies," we get to see "old age" on a regular basis, up close and personal. Because of that, I have set goals for myself as I age (hopefully without too much kicking and screaming :) ), to stay close to Jesus Christ and His encouraging Scripture, to set a positive example for my grandkids as I move through my Baby Boomer years from mid-life to elderly, and, as Paul said in Acts 20, "to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."

These encouraging Bible verses from Psalm 92:12-15 seemed to work well with those goals, especially for a St Patricks Day Word-Filled Wednesday:

These encouraging Bible verses are truly gifts for the elderly not to mention the Baby Boomer Generation

The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the LORD, They will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green, To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Psalm 92:12-15

Isn't it encouraging to know we can yield the fruit of the Spirit whatever our age! These words truly are gifts for the elderly, as well as for the Sandwich Generation! For more inspirational Bible verses and photos, be sure to visit Christy at CrittyJoy.

Happy St Patricks Day to y'all :)

I am SO glad you visited my blog, as I have not been to yours before and I am so blessed to have found it! While I am not caring for my mom in my home, my sister is, several states away. Mom has Alzheimers, and this blog will be an encouraging resourse for us both. I will tell my sister about it and I will visit often. We have grandkids near and far and both my husband and I have parents in other states. Praise God for providing another resourse. The scripture you shared today is a big encouragement,
Laurie

Hi Laurie, Thank you! :) Sounds like you and your sister also stay pretty busy AND may do some traveling, as do I! It’s well worth it, though. How many grandkids do you have? :)

I loved that Kaye. I have set that scripture to music too. I even sing it. But I haven’t sent the copyright in yet. Thank you so much for your sweet visit and encouraging post. Blessings ~
