My grandchildren and I had a chance to use the Advent candles and wreaths the past couple of days. We've also been enjoying the various Christmas nativity sets I love to collect and they love to help me find. On Friday, my granddaughter and I discovered a new musical Nativity set to add to the collection. We went to a local thrift store and were delighted to discover find this for under $3! What a treat for both of us – full of sweet family memories for Advent!
It joined the music Christmas Nativity set my grandkids and I found at Walgreen's a couple of years ago.
I bought this simple wooden Nativity set this year at a Christmas craft sale. I loved its looks and thought it might be a good pattern for future activities for grandparents and grandchildren.
We even have a couple of unique Nativity Christmas tree ornaments.
Here's one we found for our easy homemade Christmas tree ornaments activities for grandparents and grandchildren.
When the grandkids were much younger, I treated both sets to an unbreakable set from Fisher Price. They are getting harder and more expensive to find, but I was pleased to notice one of my favorite toy companies, Melissa and Doug has cute wooden children's Christmas Nativity sets.
What about you and your grandchildren? Do you enjoy Nativity sets together, or have other special traditions for Advent? We'd love to hear! And to enjoy more ideas for Advent, be sure to visit A Pause in Advent.

P.S. Thank you so much for your comments. I appreciate them very much and read each one. I also do my best to reply to them all but, as you can imagine, there are times (many times, lately :) ) when caregiving needs do not allow for that. Thank you for your patience and your sweet comments.

I love nativities. I’ve got a plain white one, but I’m so often tempted to buy another one! I really want my grandmothers one b/c I had such good memories of putting it up with her!
Oh, Amydeanne, your grandmother’s sounds lovely. I do hope you someday get it. Such sweet family memories!
